I know I don't post much here. Like George Lucas, I'm a perfectionist with my stories and am never satisfied enough with them, so many of them just sit on my hard drive, never finished and never seeing the light of day

I was admiring your new(?) icon earlier today and it's interesting what you've done. If you feel at ease writing elsewhere, I'll try to follow along, particularly since some stories may (please!) see the light of New Times Roman print somewhere over there on IJ. Good luck to you; you've been in fandom for some years and have doubtless seen/heard other rumbles and know how to handle them. Back in the ooooolllld days, zines and letterzines had their own versions, as I recall, and I have even been involved in a few. It was the months waiting for mailed replies that could cool things off; now all is immediate e-reaction. Getting on the internet was indeed a "step into a larger world."
The "apology accepted" icon is by valliegurl. I saw it and thought it was appropriate. Very funny in the SW context.
I'm younger than you, but I was active in fandom since I was about 10. I published a handful of 'zines and was quite active in many more. People reacted then as they do now, but by the time the stuff got published and reached our mailboxes, we had moved on to reacting to something entirely new. XD
Star Wars fandom isn't going to go under the same scrutiny as Harry Potter, I don't think simply because although SW was a kid's movie, everybody who grew up with it has grown up now. I just don't like the way LJ does business. I worked for a company that used to do what LJ is doing. Eventually they'll get bought out and the new owners will change things. Hopefully better, but you never know. I like supporting the little guy anyway.
