back to school

so today is the last day of summer, and i start class tomorrow morning at 8am with some good ol' intermediate mechanics. following that will be 2 hours of some class called "environment and society"...we'll see how that goes. then i get the rest of the day off - yay

are you not posting anymore? I saw you mention Brian Greene, and I'm curious how you feel about him now (this was a 3 year old post). I'm reading The Elegant Universe, and am realizing that I need a much stronger background in math and physics, because I'd like a deeper understanding. Still, I find it interesting that 2 of my friends have dim views of string theory - one says 'it was popular in the sixties', the says it's been disproved - seeing as it's still not fully formulated, these seem like nonsensical statements to me.
