And now for something completely different.

I've been promising Hawky I'd post about this for months, and I'm really quite embarrassed I never have. Alison's probably been expecting it for ages, too. Which, you know, makes me worry that some leader I seem to be, putting things off like this, and all, except..

Okay, skip this, dear sirs, as it'll just make you leave due to lost interest before you reach the point. )

...I'm obviously interested. And willing to help in any way possible (schedule permitting).

I think we should, for the time being, keep it on a one-year schedule, and see what happens at that point. Because... Well, for one thing, it'll be a new school year for quite a few - if not all - of us. And that can change things a lot. It'll also be a good place to see how things are going so far and make decisions.

I definitely like the idea we agreed on, which was the loss of internet.

And that's all I have to say. I think.

Yeah, a one-year schedule sounds good. I could've wished that it had coincided more neatly with something annual - either the beginning of the new school year or of the year itself - but I think one could come up with worse dates than February twenty-eighth, no? ^^;

Ah, excellent. I like that idea, too, so.. huzzah for that. And it seems to be getting a good reception.

I've been very interested about this. The plot seems fantastic. This year involves quite a few exams for me, so while I'd like to be involved, I wouldn't be able to be too involved.
One thing I can see a possible hole in is how are people going to know what's happened with whom barring their own correspondence. Does that make sense?
In any case, I think the idea's a good'un and would like to be involved.

Well, that's quite alright. ^^; You could, say, have your character be a busy one and less able to answer letters promptly. But in order to keep things active, I believe we should probably set some sort of a general rule for responding - say, your character should send every character her corresponds with a letter at least once a month? That seems reasonable. At a minimum of twelve letters from each side, things could certainly progress quite well plot-wise without being too terribly strenuous for any involved.

I should remember to mention that in one of the following posts on the topic. *makes mental note*

Ah, yes. Well, I would almost encourage the chaos element within reason. ^^; If it's a question of how everyone got each other's addresses, yes, we'll have to work that out, and there will probably be some people left out of the general loop. But because there will be that unevenness of information, it will actually encourage more cross-interaction eventually, because people will stumble upon other people's addresses ( ... )

I couldn't quite get through the whole thing----it's early, I'm sick and facing a full day's driving in the rain, so my focus isn't what it should be----but the concept is awesome. I'd like to play, too, if I may?

That's quite alright. The history is pretty long, especially for early in the morning. ^^;

A full day of driving in the rain? Eck. That.. does not sound fun. Good luck with that. *gives you tea*

And certainly you can participate. I think it'll be mostly the group of LJers who all already know each other, but it's open call - that's one of the reasons the post is public. Unless anyone else objects, I'm up for accepting anyone who shows interest and can commit to participate, unless we get to be really huge or something.

I'm in! I've always thought it should be Letters from the Real World, as opposed to fake world that my mother rants about when communicating with me about internet usage.

*adds you to The List* Woo. ^^

Aw, the fake world? Should I feel fictional now?

...I think I'm actually liking her idea more than mine. Especially because of the online tendancy to call offline 'real life'.
