nerdy school based question

Have any of you heard of, used, or have an opinon about the site Spotify?  I'm doing a project for class that has to deal with social networking sites and ran accross it.

I've lusted after it for years, and am always jealous of peeps in countries that have access to it. Just one more reason to loathe the RIAA.

And I thought I had all the reasons I needed to loathe the RIAA already. So is it a "use at your own risk" type of thing?

Even worse, it's a "we detect your country by IP address and won't let you in at all if you're not in one of our fortunate socialist European nations". Maybe not impossible to circumvent, but certainly outside my realm of expertise. Same trouble as I have with the BBC player here in the States.

So you sure we can't move to Edinburgh?

Looks interesting! I can't imagine it's all that legal, given our annoyingly draconian laws.

It's totally legal, just not accessible outside Finland, France, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, or the UK.
