I need to start conducting nightly backups of my work computer. Any recommendations for backup software?

then i'm no use. If it were a *nix system, i'd tell you to just drag and drop what you want (or write a script to move it all over) but windows has all these files that you can't move or copy or access, so I'm not sure.

with out knowing the specifics you could use a service like carbonate to remotely backup to a web store there are several others.

or as listed bellow you could use some of the software that comes with the various hard drives. Do you need it encrypted to tape or is this just in case your hard drive goes boom?

If your just worried about things like book marks and data and using windows XP I would suggest just set the my briefcase up to synchronize to the secondary drive and move your data to it.

If its some other OS not certain but I bet there are similar such ways.
