Virginia's gonna be a while. Allen's already said he wants a recount, and that can't start until the election is certified on Nov. 27th.

In other words, we *might* know by Christmas who is the Senate majority.

ETA 1: HOLY FUCK, DONALD RUMSFELD IS STEPPING DOWN.

I just found out not long ago and 'Yes!' was out of my mouth before my mind had time to engage. I think this makes the first time speaking before thinking hasn't ended badly for me. ;) It's total bull that Shrub and Rummy just decided he should step down after discussing the situation. They did discuss it but only in terms of what would be in Shrub's best political interest. Dunno if Rummy would've even been there for that conversation. *shrugs* Whatever. He's gone. That's all that matters. If Shrub serving his own political best interest happens to be the best thing for the situation, not going to knock it.

ETA 3: Well, Mr Bush spent a lot of time saying nothing....

If Mr. Bush is speaking, it rather goes without saying he'll spend a lot of time saying nothing. ;) 'Imagine you are an idiot. Now imagine you are in Congress. But I repeat myself' comes to mind. *G* Credit to Mark Twain for that bit of wit.

I found out a minute after it was released and screamed bloody murder and called a billion people. Haven't the past few days been great?!!!

I don't even listen to Bush anymore.

As for Virginia, it takes time to be this perfect, babe. Webb's won, it just might take time to make it official. Allen's being smart and not asking for a recount unless the canvassing changes the numbers a lot, I think. (Anyway, my man Webb! I love that someone I volunteered for has finally won something!)
