You know, there is a reason why you're still alive after all the crap you've been through in 2008. You managed to cheat death once, and now that you have this second chance, it's time to figure out why you got so lucky.
It's fine to be frustrated with yourself... but you shouldn't show any signs of giving up or stepping down. Life is too short to be self-conscious about what people think about you. Fuck what they think. Let them go about their boring daily lifeless routines. YOU have a life to live. Don't shut yourself out, because once you do, you're as good as dead.
Just remember, a lot of people who know what you've been through are on your side.
I haven't notice a stutter, when we were talking on the phone the other day I mostly had problems hearing you because of the phone.
You are very lucky and your recovery was miraculous. Its terrible that you are still having issues, but the fact that you don't have more is amazing!
I wonder what would happen if you swapped stories with my grandmother in law. She had a stroke last week and she has a little trouble with her right side, but her biggest issue is talking. She understands everything, but she can't get her mouth to say what she wants. You can tell how frustrating it is for her. She is getting better tho I'm sure she would rather have issues with movement and be able to talk.
Jared and I actually tell her about you to help give her hope and let her know that she can get better. We tell her how bad you had it and how much better you are and I think it helps.
You are helping change lives without even doing anything.
I wouldn't tell you that no one notices, but the truth is that other people notice less than you think. For good or for ill, this is a part of you now. Don't feel like you need to apologize to others for being you, anymore than you would apologize for being a man, or for wearing glasses.
