bulleted updates:

*i'm drowning at work.

* i now have my first sales quota.  It is more than ten thousand dollars a month

*I recently found out that wimp is an acronym meaning "woman in man's pants" -- meaning a weak man.  So, now I have to cross that off my list of acceptable terms.

*squiggly lines -- still totally there.

I tend to trust etymonline.com, mostly because I don't have access to the OED. They don't really mention that. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?search=wimp&searchmode=none. Also, to be honest, almost every time I hear some etymology based on an acronym it is pretty wrong, OK being an exception, but even that most people get wrong. So I'm saying......maybe not?
