The Morning After

Catherine rolled over to look at her alarm clock and saw that it was well past ten in the morning already. She hadn't slept in like this in a long time; she hadn't been able to sleep in like this for a long time. That was one good thing about getting paid leave, she had to admit

Liz looks up from where she's oggling pictures of her new godson. Kennedy is just adorable. But so is a sleepy Catherine. Just in a much different way. She gets up and walks over, pouring a cup of coffee for her lover and then hands it over. "You needed it."

Catherine shot her a grateful smile. "My hero. Thank you." She blew some of the steam away from the mug before taking a small sip. "So what's got you looking all starry-eyed?"

Liz smiles. "Jenny had her baby. He's early and he's tiny, but he's got his mother's spirit." She takes another sip of her coffee and slides the phone over, showing off the squashed little creature with the tiny shock of red hair.

Catherine was never one to turn down looking at baby pictures, so she set her mug down so she could pull the phone a little closer. "Oh, look at him. He's just darling."
