Hehe. Seriously! If a line like that isn't just exactly the way to the hearts of little feminist scholars, I don't know what is!
Some day I hope to live in a world where girls can walk down the street and get compliments like that instead of "nice ass!". Wouldn't it be wonderful?
Oh, thank you! I really hope the hot water bottle thing will work out. I'm a bit worried about them being leaky and soaking all the fiberfilling and making a huge mess, but wouldn't a warm huggy womb just melt the cramps away like nothing else?
Hot water bottle wombs! What a fantastic idea. I still really want to try knitting the womb from Knitty. You're so cute and really do perform femininity in a very cool way.
The womb from knitty was the inspiration! I wanted to make that instead but didn't have pipe cleaners and thought it would take too long to make. I'm going to try it out one day though!
And likewise :) Also, I totally mentioned you / your school's curriculum in my Feminist Theories class on Friday!
That is a really neat craft project. A whole torso on the other hand is craft madness! If you pull it off one of these days I'll be amazed and get you some congratulatory vegan desrt of some kind.
Oh and for your water bottle idea if you're worried about it leaking why not use the stuff they use in those Magic Bags. You microwave it and there are these little pellets inside that retain the heat, but also make it a very comfy pillow.
A whole torso is a bit of a dream. I think that it will be my summer project. I'll have to study anatomy books and buy A LOT of stuffing and try to figure it all out for myself, or possible recruit friends who are both crafty and knowledgeable about biology to help me out.
The Magic Bag idea is a really good one! People sometimes use barley or rice inside pouches to make their own bags. Maybe I could try to use those things as stuffing instead of the polyester fiberfill next time. Hmmm. Excellent suggestion!
Oh, thank you! I don't think most people would think to make a crafted womb. I certainly didn't. I shamelessly adopted (stole) the idea from here. Sewing took a long time, but it was still much faster!
