Last night the U of O's finest met up to discuss such matters of great importance as why people who drive "RV"s and go "camping" in Wal-Mart parking lots are everything that is wrong with the world, "gaybies", and our FEM3105 photo essays! I got to take our baby home for safekeeping and was quickly reminded by certain of you that a long, long time ( Read more... )

also, i very much like this project.

trying to discuss feminism is so frustrating sometimes. the other night someone who is a very close friend of mine actually said "why the hell would you label yourself that??" and another close friend agreed with her. ugh.

Your project is really quite interesting. Was that you three in all the pictures?

Thank you! I wish we had been able to pull it off with just the three of us, but alas, we recruited friends for five of the nine. Performance is definitely my favourite theme to explore visually. If I can interest some friends in it doing them for fun, I hope to do more photo essays where the "essayists" are more directly involved in front of the lens!

I love YOU!

I (and doctor too) initially thought my problem might have been gluten sensitivity, and I'm so relieved it probably isn't! Even so, I'm so accustomed to whole wheat that I was pretty hostile about having to eat super processed white bread! I've grown to love it. Grilled "cheese" sandwiches! Crumbly toast! PB&J!

Sorry, I'll stop. Even if in opposite ways, we are total twins in tummy woes.

tops looks so cute in his pink shirt!
i'm glad you did end up posting your project, i really enjoyed reading though what you had writen and the pictures were well done. all the alteration on the photos, the words, were they photoshopped in after the fact?

My friend Emily did all the photoshopping after the photos were taken! We definitely thought about placement of the text beforehand, though!

Hehehe. I know, that photo is so adorable! You should have seen how enthusiastic a participant he was! Emily was all "I dunno if he'll let us make him wear AN ASCOT", but he was all about it. And then he was like "oh man, I could also be drinking something pink. WITH AN UMBRELLA! AND A BENDY STRAW!"

This is a great project! I loved getting to see all of it.

I really hope your starchy new "diet" and other appointments make a difference and that you get to feeling better!

Thank you so much for the concern, dear! I don't think I can deal with eating so much starch forever, but in the interim it's pretty alright!

And I'm glad you liked the project! Thank you!!
