composition notebooks around these parts are only wide-ruled.. it's so hard to find college-ruled. if that's ok, i don't mind sending you some (you mean the mottled black-and-white covers with the sewn binding, right?)..

Wide ruled are all I can ever find! That's more than okay!!!

I will send you mail goodies in return. Any requests? I think I still have your little aviator hat (I didn't want to send it to your dorm and then have it take to long and get there after you moved out), so I could send other knitted things with it? Or sewn things? Or...?

Maybe it's all you want, but I will send at least a little something more!

I need five of them for first semester but that would probably be too heavy to mail. What if you send me three and I'll try to get find someone else who can also mail me a couple?

xoxo

Not any more, they don't! The one at Bank and Walkley was always my backup source, but no longer :(

i wrote up a bit of a list, but it's stuck to the van wall under the quote "tonight you will sleep in thirteen sobey's bags in the river" (not you, someone in the van, it was chilling), but perhaps this is what i remember...

NINE STORIES (jd salinger- espec. "for esme, with love and squalor" and "a good day for banana fish")
THE THINGS THEY CARRIED (tim o'brien/o'brian?) (pomo vietnam war memoir fiction!)
IN OUR TIME (ernest hemingway- or really any collection of short stories)
ANSWERED PRAYERS (truman capote)
MURDER IN THE DARK (margaret atwood- read it selectively, it doesn't always deliver)

and...that's all i can recall..

Oh geez, you and your Margaret Atwood! Anyway, thank you so much for suggestions! Maybe after I get through everything I have now, plus all those, I'll finally be able to tackle the Oscar Wilde.

Maybe.

Thank you for the internet list. Don't throw away the real thing because handwritten ones are infinitely better / less loseable so I still want it!

I hope you and everyone and stumpyvan are safe and enjoying your time in southern Ontario!

Yikes! Dying indeed. Sitting in basements for extended periods of time is bad news for your sanity. Why would you do that to yourself?

Get outside! The province's "fish tail" is your oyster!

your camp looks like such a great time, i'm so envious! you'll have to show me how to make a fannypack one of these days, they look awesome.

also, i tried soy ice cream for the first time last weekend (the chocolate kind from pure gelato) and it was so so good!

THE CHOCOLATE KIND FROM PURE GELATO IS ALL THAT MATTERS IN LIFE! I forced it upon six unsuspecting boys and I think they were all pleasantly surprised with the results. "Doesn't it taste like frozen nutella?" I exclaimed. "YES YES! But with a slight pudding quality!". It is basically every delicious chocolate food smooshed into one. Guh so yummy!

Also, if I can teach an eight year old, I'm sure I can show anyone how to make a fanny pack and operate a sewing machine. This means you!

Books by Miriam Toews are good. I just read Boy of Good Breeding. Have fun at camp!
