People keep asking how my trip went and I never know how to respond besides, "It was fun. I ate a lot". Teri once did a really great vacation recap entry in this format, and I am shamelessly stealing it from her because it was so great, and also because I am feeling so much Teri love right now!

This is such a great entry, and I hope your classes will be fun!  “Philosophy of Culture” sounds particularly interesting to me, though I guess it could have the danger of being too general.

I'm really excited about Philosophy of Culture too. It was an elective, but it's my first actual philosophy class ever!

So far I really like that we've been discussing a lot of the same authors we'd learn about in a political thought class, but they are examined in such a different way. The politics of aesthetics is probably what I want to explore in graduate study. I've spent the past three years trying to explore it in term papers and being told by professors, "Well, that isn't actually political. You'll have to write about something else". And just generally, focusing on culture is seen as kind of a silly or trivial thing in the political science world. So it's amazing to me to now have a wholeentireclass devoted to the idea that art and music and fashion and food and all aspects of culture have hugely important political and social impacts.

I hope it doesn't let me down!

He kept trying to eat the ice from my hand and I was only trying to share! But I wish I had taken a picture of him in his humiliation.

Do I know Katherine? How does she know she saw me? How do you know she knows she saw me? Etc etc.

I have decided that MSN occupies entirely too many hours of my days and am staying away! I already have papers due next week, yikes!

My container is going to probably hold hand lotion. What did you use yours for?

PS. Whenever we finally do get around to discussing THINGS, all I have to say is that I think you're going to be disappointed. There aren't really any THINGS to speak of :( But we'll discuss later!

I almost made a mean joke at someone's expense, but then remembered that this is THE PUBLIC FORUM THAT IS THE INTERNET and decided to bite my tongue, so to speak.

For now let's say I'm going to throw it at ponies.
