It is Friday night and I am at home working diligently on crafts. Some days I get really wrapped up in doing manual tasks. Today is one of the days when it just feels so right to make knots in yarn and sink my hands in bowls of sticky dough and fold up my laundry and get soil under my fingernails. Some days I just need that tactile relationship ( Read more... )

Guess what? You should really be in Montreal this weekend with basically everyone ever, that's what! I wish you were also here to partake, and to eat breakfast potatoes and garlicy things with me.

I'm glad you put "breakfast potatoes and garlicy things" at the end, because I probably wouldn't have read the rest of the comment if you had put that first. ;)

Yeah, I sometimes really feel like the only person not in Montreal!

What are you going to do for your birthday??

Lee has an outdoor pool at his building if you wanna have a pool party.

Lee has an outdoor pool?! Whoa, can he be MY boyfriend?

Anyway, on my birthday proper, I have absolutely no idea. The thing about a day-before-Canada-day birthday is that most people travel that weekend- so at the same time as lovely out of town people will be in town, many of the in town people will be away. It is a logistical concern. But I think it would be really, really, really amazing to gather up the people who aren't away and have a little pool party one day. It can be mildly birthday associated and I will bake things!

And honestly there is little more I love in life than an outdoor pool. Best birthday offer ever!

your lj userinfo is probably the best use of that space i've ever seen :]

oh, & i also thorougly enjoyed this post on your crafting. mostly because i'd like to do any of these things if i weren't so inherently lazy.

Aww, that's possibly the nerdiest compliment I've ever received, but I like it!

Crafting doesn't take any effort at all once you get your heart into it. From there, it just feels like tapping into a very necessary human function. Which it totally is.

Nein, I'm as York-bound as ever! The program is only one year long, and I am mildly insane and wanting to do consecutive BA/MA/PhD with no break.

I'd like to see you too! And Lindsay! Consider things you would like to do. Might I suggest swimming or picnic?
