That is what a lady shouted as she waved her hands at me when I was walking into a church last night. It was the first time I'd been inside a church in almost ten years. It made me think, whoa, church has really changed since I was last there! I actually feel like I almost have too much positive energy these days. I am struggling to keep my ( Read more... )

It's great to hear that you are settling in to TO. I wanted to go to Nuit Blanche and so did Kim, but we ended up at a friend's housewarming party instead. Looks like we missed out on some neat stuff.

The friend should have obviously brought the housewarming party out of the house! You definitely missed out on a lot of fun stuff, but hopefully since it was such a success they'll have a do-over?

I love ocean-produced fog with all of my heart, but there is something just so humble and adorable about replicating it with machines.

or coming out every afternoon to see the same sweet old woman pulling a cart in one hand & rifling through yr garbage w/ the other. we always exchange a hello but she speaks little english & i speak even fewer words of mandarin. growing up is like running w/ yr eyes closed into the bark of a tree.

Ahh, there's a fair share of garbage-rifling old ladies with carts in my neighbourhood too. So, so heartbreaking.

The man in my building always looks asleep or like he is trying really hard to sleep so / and I am a bit timid about disturbing him, but I'm always tempted to bring him down a sandwich or a cup of tea or some cookies or something. Maybe one day I will sneak down and leave some out by the door for him just in case.

That looked like so much fun!
It's funny about the fog, but I'd never really noticed we don't get much at all here. This morning was foggy though. But yeah, it's very rare, and never as foggy as some of the fog I've experienced in other places.

Oh, it was so much fun! I was just sad that I couldn't get to everything!

It always made me so happy when the snow would start to melt in Ottawa and it got a teensy bit foggy. It pales in comparison to what you get seaside, but it's still pretty! Autumn fog seems especially rare, though!
