I was so ready to breastfeed. I bought the pump, the gear, the books. I had the plan on how to nurse in public. I was so pumped and ready. So, you aren't a cow. It's alright.

I'm sure in a hunter-gather society, my poor vision would have made me a meal for a sabertooth tiger.

There is far more to being a mother, than being a meal. :)

I wasn't breast fed, and I turned out fine.

You know it's funny you mention the cow thing. I spent most of my pregnancy feeling like one in the sense that I was only good for gestating.

You are right though. I can't actually think of one person I know that was exclusively breast fed. Now whether we all turned out just fine is another story....

I stumbled here from gothic_moms, and I have to say, your post sums up my exact breastfeeding experience with my daughter. Everything from pumping and getting almost nothing to nursing every 20 minutes and still having a screaming child.

You know, it makes me feel so much better to find that other women had similar issues. Not that I wish it on anyone, but at least I know I am not the only one. It amazes me that when you try and find information or answers about this sort of problem that people just pass it off as having bad latch or something instead of addressing the real issue. What is the deal with that? Drives me nuts!
