It has been ages since I've been on this thing. I truly need to get some things down. Maybe later. Until then, an update on little girl
We took Aeowynn to get her first pair of shoes last Sunday. She actually ended up getting two pairs of shoes. I had gotten a coupon in the mail for a free first pair of baby shoes. It was one of those things where the store is hoping to keep you as a customer. She got a pair of white tennis shoe looking things and a pair of black patent leather Mary Janes. She looks absolutely dandy. I thought she would rebel against having shoes on, but she seems ok so far. The shoes are a little big. She actually takes a size 1/2 (!!) but we got her size ones to give growth room. She will get to wear more fancy shoes when her feet get a little bigger. Speaking of bigger, she has moved into the 3-6 month clothes size. I swear she grows while she is a daycare. She looks bigger every time I pick her up. I was going through her dresser and realized that Mike and I bought her a bunch of cool velvet dresses that she has already grown out of without wearing. We had gone to Babys R Us and got a little silly with buying her velvet stuff. She hasn't gone anywhere that required dressing up so the dresses sat in the drawer. I think black velvet is a little much for daycare.
Little girl also rolled onto her side for the first time Sunday. She didn't make it all the way over onto her stomach, but I came up from the basement and she was completely on her left side in her Pack N Play. It wasn't the half and half thing that she had been doing previously. This was an honest to goodness side laying. I haven't seen her do it since then, but I think it still counts.
She seems to be over the horrible cold that she had. I am keeping watch on her eyes to make sure the infection is really gone. She still has the little bumps on her face though. The pediatrician had said that they would get worse before they got better. She had scared the crap out of me when I had taken her in for the appointment the other week. She had said that I shouldn't give her Tylenol in case her fever spiked. If her temp had gone up I would have had to take her in for blood work to check for viral infections and spinal infections. I almost fell over. I read enough about baby illnesses to be dangerous. I took the little bit of info she gave me and stressed about meningitis. Overreact much?
She is back to her normal self now though. She is all smiles. She has been pooping out really early after getting home. We've been trying to keep her awake until her regular bed time, but she is out cold by 6:45. That makes for a fun 3 am wake up for me. She is very smiley and giggly when she wakes me up though. It makes it hard to be frustrated. I have to work on my game face.
