I've been talking with friends a lot about running contacts lately and one question keeps coming up: Whatever happened to the $5000 running contact folks?
And a random beach pic, just because it's awesome. :-)
Maybe for that $5000 they suck out your brain and re-program so you're never again able to discuss your contact training! Or ... maybe no one fell for it?
If I had $5000 to spend on contact training ALONE, I'd skip that investment and get me a really cool agility rig with fridge, A/c and built in kennels!
Yeah, last night at class the discussion of what we would spend our money on, if we had so much that we would spend that much for running contacts. A personal chef, personal trainer, variety of cars, vacations etc etc.
Susan isn't the only trainer that requires secrecy from those she works with, but personally that is a big red flag for me.
agreed. or instructors/presenters that won't allow people to post videos of their OWN dogs working in a seminar. Geez, if I could train my dog to be AWESOME just by watching videos, I'd have a MACH 27 dog!
Brit: "Hi! Was there an update on the running contact participants? I looked on the blog and couldn't find anything."
"Not sure what you are looking for Brit?"
Brit: "Didn't you hold a running contact workshop with a select few people? Where they had to fly up to your place? Or am I totally confused..??"
"Yep we did, about a year ago. Two of them started trialling their young dogs recently. But I really can't do too much "updating" as these people lead private lives (unlike people like me:))."
Lol! A valid point, but the agility community isn't that big, surely someone knows one of the 5 and how they are doing, but no one seems to know. So weird.
You can have that information for a mere $988, or four installments of $400 each. Plus, you'll get all kinds of bonus materials... all of which has already been sold to you in the past.
Such an odd concept to me with people out there like Silvia who put their info out there for FREE for everyone--clearly she's doing pretty well despite this! Definitely different marketing strategies but I'd be very interested to at least see the product that came out of those $5,000 versus what came out of all those dogs out there (including many of ours on LJ) trained with free information.
Exactly, as I am in the middle of my wimpy running contact plan (seriously not messing with turns off the dogwalk), I am curious how much "better" those folks are doing.
