I was working on a post about music in 2010 and it turns out LJ isn't really something I should rely on to save that. But anyway, here are some songs from 2010 I liked that you may like too. I apologize that I'm probably an idiot with ID3 tags, but I tried and that's what matters ( Read more... )

I went to NY recently and there was snow. A LOT of snow. It turned out I didn't hate it so much, and honestly, where ever you're walking, there is a bar. And in that bar, there will be alcohol until 4am or later if they particularly like you. And after the consumption of the alcohol, you only need to waddle home instead of trying to sober up before driving. And drunk waddling makes you a lot less cold. So, it turns out, there's really nothing bad about NYC at all.

The subway is my favorite, I'd be happy to just ride it back and forth through all the burroughs people and graffiti watching. I've never felt safer in any other city in the world, it's weird thinking that you would be a wuss though.

Yes ma'am! I was really expecting to have to trudge through some just to get home since I came in RIGHT after their blizzard, but already everything was completely off the sidewalks and streets. I'm so used to the complete inability to cope with snow down here that I suppose I never knew that people could be ready for it!

I try to tell people that when they ask how I can "live in a snowy hell hole". Um. we spend $145 million each winter on snow removal, trust me, sidewalks and roads are fucking CLEAR by noon lol. Snowfall ain't no thang in a big city with a budget. I kind of love it.

I think people just imagine suburban problems when they think about how terrible it is. If you live in an apartment in a snowy big city and take public transportation, there's no snow issues you have to deal with ever.

Plus, too, I actually ended up falling on my butt in some snow and it was a lot better than the concrete. +1 to snow!

I love your taste in music ;D If you haven't, Darkstar reminds me so much of you- you should get all of them if you don't already have it, if you can't find it, you know where to find me!

Yay! More music! Thank you! *Gleefully downloads*

When we went to NYC January 7th-10th this year there was no snow at all on the ground, so we asked the cab driver - apparently they scoop it up in these trucks that melt it all so it's not clogging up the sidewalks and streets.
The second we got outside the metro area there was snow everywhere! It was really neat.

I agree ... there's hardly anything bad about NYC. I absolutely LOVE the place.

Oh, I hope you like it! I love reading your posts about NYC and especially recently about your recent engagement there, it made my heart turn to mush.

It's so odd being in a place that knows how to deal with snow, I never knew it was possible!
