Avengers Thoughts: Round 2
So, my roommates AND my boyfriend are out of town this weekend, which means I have the apartment all to myself, which means it's time for one of my bi-annual or so "Weekend of Me!"s. 2) I was shocked that the audience was at least as into this week as last week. I hold out vague hope that Avengers will eventually overtake Avatar was highest grossing film ever. Or even just topple Titanic. Probably not, but it would be so cool.
3) The thing that makes this movie so good is how for newcomers, I feel that it describes things quite well, and yet for veterans it provides adequate backstories as well as the action scenes.Yes! I more-or-less fall into the newbie category. I've never read a comic book, and while I've seen the other movies once, I don't remember them all that well (something I'm looking to rectify this weekend). Obviously, I loved it. On the flip side, some of my real-life friends are hardcore Marvel-verse fanboys and they liked it at least as much as I did. It definitely manages to appeal to all SORTS of people, too -- fandom types who are going to go home and write fic, comic fans who are going to go home and re-read their fave Avengers comics, casual movie viewers who are just going ( ... )

ALSO ALSO ALSO AS MUCH AS I LOVE BRUCE AND TONY THE SCIENCE BROS BECAUSE THEY'RE PERFECT HOW GREAT WAS THAT TONY/PEPPER KISS? SO GREAT. (I HAD A LITTLE "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" MOMENT IN THE THEATER BECAUSE I'VE BEEN SHIPPING THEM SINCE DAY ONE WITH IRON MAN AND I ALMOST FORGOT THAT CANON SHIPS CAN GIVE ME FEELINGS IN ACTION FLICKS)
Thor's feelings for Loki and wanting him back give me feelings, oh man. Tumblr was giving me Loki burnout before this, but THOR WANTING HIS BROTHER BACK was LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST THINGS EVER. And as much as I love evil!Loki, I do want him to earn the chance to redeem himself for all of the awful things he has done.

YEEEEEES. I hate/love it when I have a non-canon ship but also love a canon one. OT3 solution y/y? Because YES that kiss and just Pepper's awesomeness in general. I love her. I love her SO much.

+1. I know some people ship it, which I do not. But MAN do I love intense family relationships, and this is an excellent example. That Thor refuses to give up on Loki is <3 <3 <3

I KNOW RIGHT? I mean, I kinda ship them because I've this weakness for incest ships that grow out of intense familial bonds (Sam and Dean Winchester, hot damn), BUT YES I LOVE THEIR BOND. Especially because I like to think that Thor's internal monologue re: Loki is slightly similar to that of a flailing Loki fanperson.
