An uphill battle

War. War never changes. These words are engraved to my brain since I've first managed to finally run Fallout 2. These four words marked an era of my ascension from nerd to computer game nerd. I've used these four holy words in a lot of my sigs on forums. And, to this year, I thought I knew what war was.

I was wrong.

I've heard somewhere that one can not truely appreciate the top if they have not experienced the bottom. I've been going through a similar thing recently due to switching to a commuter university due to finacial reasons, and socializing at this place is quite difficult when half the people there are 40 year olds getting a degree paid by their work, and young folk whom are already in their cliques.

It's nice to hear from you again, I must admit. And yes, the more one writes, the easier communication gets, and this is coming from someone who has a horrible time with speech.

"They say that time changes things but you actually have to change them yourself." - Andy Warhol

You have made progress. Keeping so busy and focused on other things that you didn't indulge in a habit let you see what else you can do with the time that you have. But that is absence. If you want to have gaming in your life, but also have other things, the next step is to turn a habit into a hobby. In my opinion, the way to do that is to give it boundaries, because you value something else more. Beyond that, I don't know; that's the step I am on myself.

We're bound to progress, though. Or either social curve, or the evolution dumps us behind, wondering wtf happened.

I also disagree with the Warhol quote, time DOES change people. To get positive changes mostly, you have to react. Not reacting is what causes people not to change. Reacting usually does.

And I'm blabbering again.

In my opinion, people change over time on a physical level. But it is certainly possible for a person's mindset to not change over time, and to live off of the same old reactions. There are people who seek comfort in that.

This is your journal, so blabber on. Say what you want.
