my thoughts on the roommate

okay, so I went and saw the roommate today! It was actually really good. I loved it. It's not the best movie of the year or anything, but for what it was...it was good. It was great.

I love the movie theater that I go to...because the place was empty. Good thing too with all the squirming I was doing at some points in th movie. It was just me and ( Read more... )

I don't think it was addressed in the movie, but do you think Rebecca was gay? Or do you think it would have made more sense for Rebecca to have been gay? But will look forward to it either when it comes out on DVD or I can get a download. I have this feeling I might go in for repeat viewings.

I too am curious what happened between the make out scene in the bathroom. I take it they both went to Irene's place. Though I'm wondering if Rebecca knocked her out after that point and carried her to the bed or were they having sex before she tied her up?

The very ending during the "happy" after the bad guy is dead part was pretty bad though...I just didn't like it. i hope the DVD has an alternete ending. That ending just wasn''t all that good. They could have done something better.People over at IMDB were also saying they weren't too fond of the ending. Some even said they felt sorry for Rebecca. Leighton must've done a pretty good job then to have people rooting for her. Here's hoping the DVD has something good or at least more scenes ( ... )

i do think that rebecca was gay. the way she was with sara, it seemed to me like it went a little deeper than just 'friends only' feelings. i don't think you would get that obsessed with someone, just because you wanted a friend.to me it seemed like she wanted more from sara. so yeah, i do think that she was gay. they just never really directed a lot of rebecca's personality.

that was what i was wondering to about after the make-out scene. they just never went back to it, but when they went back to irene...it semeed like things had gotten pretty far with them.

i think that a hotter pairing with amber heard would be katie cassidy. i love those two so much invidually and together...they would be epic.

yeah, in supernatural it was pretty implied that ruby was gay. in that episode with the witches it was heavliy implied that ruby and the witch did have some sort of relationship.

I ask because I'm hearing that the reason Rebecca acted the way she did was because she wanted to be Sara. Which sounds pretty dumb. Others thought it could have been she was gay, but ultimately it's speculation since it seems like the film never addressed her sexuality ( ... )

Okay I just saw this movie and liked it enough. I didn't mind that the movie was rather predictable, but I did thought the writing was the weakest part of the movie. It kind of felt like the writer didn't know what he wanted the movie to be. There was plenty of elements taken from Single White Female, mixed with a story of a roommate friendship gone wrong and finally a lesbian story. There's also a lot of background info that could have been fleshed out more as you said. Just felt like there was plenty of ideas the writer had, but he was too lazy to finish them off ( ... )

I agree, I think it was overly predictable but really leightons acting seemed to make up for it. And yeah, with there writing it really does seem like the writer just didn't know what to do with the story and characters. It could have been fleshed out so much more, but they just held back on it fir some reason ( ... )

I agree 100% that Leighton's acting was what made Rebecca sympathetic since the writing was rather inept to suggest the writer originally intended it to be like that. Just shows how good of an actor Leighton is when she can take lazy scripts and still pull off a good performance. Now that makes wonder about Blake Lively's acting abilities. Since some say she's the opposite who can take a pretty good script and bring in a mediocre performance ( ... )

Exactly. Leighton real ly brought the story and character to life....she put so much more into the role the I think the writer really did. If it wasnt for her performance, I dont think the movie would have been as good as it turned out ( ... )

Wanted to respond back on this again because I just borrowed a copy of The Roommate on DVD from my library. It comes with special features including deleted scenes and it does indeed shows what happened with Rebecca and Irene after the scene in the club. And to answer the first thing you're probably wondering, yes they do have sex. If you're wondering how the scene plays out, this is what it shows ( ... )
