Love is...

"If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not love I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but ( Read more... )

Sometimes I wish that your words could come out of my mouth. Because this is exactly what I've been THINKING for the last month or so, but you know me... I'm still learning how to make things come out of my mouth the way that they are in my heart. Another thing that I need to work on is loving people enough not to get angry when their opinions differ from mine, because I know that no ministry will come from that. Thanks Robbie, you rock.
And thanks for being my friend... it was one of the two factors that kept me from being stupid twice last night.

Good question.
Hell is a place that isn't designed for people. Maybe that goes against what you've heard your whole life, but in all actuallity, it's a place that was designed for satan and his angels. But, then humans decided to go against God's perfect will for their lives, and sin. (sin is anything you say, think, or do that displeases God). God is holy (perfect) which means he can't be around sin. He can't. So the punishment for sin, is seperation from God for ever, the only place void of God, is hell. Therefore, God doesn't send people to hell, in fact it says in Matthew, "It is not the will of your father in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." He doesn't want anyone to go to hell, and yes he could make us all go to heaven. But here's a question, if you truly love someone, would you want to force them to love you back? That's not true love, that's puppetry. God in his amazing love, allows us to choose. Him forever, or a life void of Him. He loves us enough to let us go.
I hope that helps you understand.

Hi! In case you don't remember (and I don't suppose you would) I'm a frind of Aliz's. Kate. I really liked your post. It explained a lot of things the way I've been trying to get them out of my head but haven't really formed. And with an example to explain it! I was wondering if you would possibly mind if I copied your post onto my lj so others could see it. I think it might help one or two to understand me. And what Christians go through and so forth. Would you mind? Let me know. And P.S. can I add you to my friends page? I know we don't really talk, but you seem (and I know you are) a really cool person. Just let me know when you've got the time. Later!

Yeah, no problem. You can put my post on your lj, and you can add me, that would be cool.

I dont' know if you ever read my lj, but a bit back I posted some of my thougths on love. A couple times. Take a look if you feel the need. The first post about love is entitled "Love." (Original I know!) And that's the begining of it all. Thanks again!

That was one of the big reasons I became the Christian I am today. Too many Christians have God's love, but they do not show it. That made me mad almost immediately after I came to Christ. (Actually it made me mad before, but now I have a way to help). I agree with this completely.

Also, I had tried to add you as a friend months ago, but it did not work (and only found out recently). I would greatly like to try again, this time with permission.

In His Love,

Me, Not You
