Last week I got a letter from the leasing office letting me know that my lease is set to expire at the end of this month. That's not too bad, I knew that it was coming. But then they wrote that my rent was going to be raised $35 if I sign a new lease. If I don't it's going to go up $135. What makes it worse is that I also pay for water, trash, ( Read more... )

How big are you looking for? And how much are you willing to pay? I can keep my eyes open for you.

I just need a one bedroom. But no worries, I'll just take the place in January. Thanks for the offer!

Ok, cool. Remind me when you move over here and we can hang out sometime.

I liked the place so I think regardless of what happens in the next two months, I'll take this place in January.

It's usually the same no matter where you go. It's their way of getting for-sure tenants and money. I wouldn't mind signing a 3-month lease but most places around here don't do that. So 6 months it is. What part of the city do you live in?

Are you getting a bigger place so more of us can crash there next time? I'll make breakfast again...

as a matter of fact the place is about 100 sq ft. bigger than where I am now and the rent is $45 cheaper. I can't move in until January though so I might stay with Gerry for a couple months until then.

Sorry to hear it, in our last two places we had crap like that. The first place told us to sign up for a 12 month lease and pay 25 a month more or don't and pay like 50 or 75. Fuckers. We moveed out to a place and then within two months had to move again. So we lost the deposit on the second place, totaling more than 1000.

But now we are living dirt cheap so it kinda balances out--except for the two sets of movers we used. :(

But you do have our sympathy.

thank I appreciate it. I actually went to the leasing office today and told them I was moving out on the 3rd of November so I'm only going to pay a few bucks for the 3 days I'm staying past the expiration of my lease. I'm moving in with a friend of mine so rent will be A LOT cheaper. I'll hang out there until January and then I'll go after the other place again. So it looks like I got lucky.
