I got the house! Not the first one I bid on that I thought I had, but another one I found a couple weeks ago. It's bigger and better than the first. Now I just wait for escrow to close. Everything else is done. Almost there! but wait, now I have to pay for upgrades...there goes my excitement...and my next 3 checks ( Read more... )

Congratulations! I am so happy to hear! We sign papers on Monday to start our process. The short sale went into foreclosure, but we found a better one instead that got accepted.

What area will you be in?

Thanks! I will be living in North Las Vegas in a private community off of Commerce and Craig. Buffalo Wild Wings is across the street. How about you? And Congrats on your home too! Do you have to put any work into yours? I know how people have destroyed homes as they lose them in foreclosure.

Sounds like we will be relatively close. Ours is off of Rainbow between Vegas Dr. and Lake Mead. So, only about three exits off the 95 or so ( ... )

That's funny, I live off of Rainbow between Vegas and Lake Mead right now! I live across the street from the LVAC but my roommate is going to rent out her house so that's why I jumped on to the home buying craze. I got a good deal so I can't complain.

But, I totally understand what you're talking about. I went to see one that had the duct work coming through the ceiling and had holes in the walls, ceilings, missing windows. The lender just called me earlier today and said that we are paced to close at the end of next week. I went to Home Depot and purchased granite for the kitchen counters and now we just start working on the cosmetic stuff. How much longer before you close?

You bet your ass it's next to Buffalo Wild Wings. You'll get invited when it's all done and I'm ready to show it off, or at least try to. Unless, and here's a crazy thought, you want to come out and help me with the upgrades. I know I know, that's just as I described it...crazy. I heard there can be a trip to Puerto Vallarta in the works? Or was it Rosarito? Let me know dude.

I think the talk is to go to Puerto Nuevo for some lobster and a Pacifico. I think the plan is to go when you come down to watch Donny play. Help out with the upgrades? I don't know, maybe if you threw in a trip to Crown & Anchor for some fish and chips and a pint of Kronenburg 1664, then yeah I'll help. I'm also excited for you, but I'm not big on exclamation points, but I am big on...

...big on what? Come on man don't leave me hanging. Or am I supposed to fill in the blanks? Dude, as a friend of mine out here says, "ain't nothin' to it but to do it." If I confused you, that means that of course I will treat to some crown and anchor, fish & chips and the almighty Kronenburg 1664. The trip down there to watch Danny play is still in the works. I might have to be moving that weekend but I'm trying to find a way to get there anyway. But wait, as I was typing the rest of this nonsensical message, I thought to myself, "now self, shouldn't the Rickpad treat you to some Kronenburg 1664 as a reward for buying the house?" My self didn't respond to that question, just asked it...
