I'm back. Sorry I was gone for so long. Had a six day headache and so I disappeared for a week. Such love. Enjoy the implied Illyana/Kitty, the overt Piotr/Kitty and Jubilee/Kitty, and other stuff.

Title: Spinning out of Control
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: Alpha #6 Body
Word Count: 159

It was supposed to be something tangible, something you could hold onto. Flesh, blood, bonds between atoms, but she was just slipping away, her body threatening to scatter into billions of molecules, spreading throughout the universe, slipping through tiny holes in the atmosphere, rendering her as if she had never existed like the ashes of the cremated, only with much more velocity.

The world was slipping through her hands, spinning just so fast as her synapses fired. She was, in essence, the ghost she was to have become, bodiless, nothing tangible to feel, just her skewed image reflecting on the world.

When her body finally tore itself apart, where would that leave her? She was spinning out of control, so maybe she was destined to become one of the pagan geists, her soul wandering the world forever, until it broke the speed of light.

There was nothing left to touch or feel, yet all she had were the emotions.

Title: Pedantic Nonsense
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: Alpha #7 Heart
Word Count: 116

It was such an odd phrase, considering during the Middle Ages the spleen had been considered the center of emotion. What was so special about love that it got its own organ? Hysteria, applied to the wandering uterus, made sense, considering it was meant to be a woman’s emotion. Apply it to the last rib that men weren’t supposed to have or to the ovaries. Just something uniquely female.

But we all had hearts and we could all love.

“Things just aren’t working out, Katya.”

Only one thing she knew for certain-she could dull the pain, distract herself by making pedantic arguments, true nonsense in her head.

Because her heart was broken. And it hurt.

Title: Breaking the Ego (Submitting to the Id)
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: PG-13
Theme: Alpha #8 Curves
Word Count: 203

She knew her eyes had a habit of wandering in class. The courses weren’t challenging, so she might as well check out her fellow students.

She was fourteen. Any fourteen-year-old girl would be interested in checking out what handsome guys studied along with her and might need tutoring. But as her eyes wandering around the room, she found herself captivated by the curves.

It wasn’t that she wasn’t interested in the men in the room-she undoubtedly was-it was more the beauty and sensuality, the forbidden fruit aspect. She just wanted to touch, to taste…

The curve of the lower lip as it melded into the jaw. The curve of the hip, leading up into a slender waist. The curve of the ass, panning out into the small of the back. The curve of the stomach, rolling down into that unmistakable v.

Each and every one of them, something she could never have, but would always crave.

The curve of breasts sloping up to a tender hollow of a neck.

Illyana would kill her if she knew what the stares and smiles were about. Yes, she was attracted to the girl’s brother, but she hedonistically craved Illyana. Just to explore the curves.

Theme: Alpha #9 Path
Word Count: 220

She calculated how much it would cost to take a cab from her dorm to Deerfield, but put her pen down, picking up her bags and the bus schedule.

Outside, soft snowflakes were falling, and she couldn’t help but be reminded of Robert Frost. “Oh, I kept the first for another day!” she mumbled, laughing, snow in her tangled hair. “Yet knowing how way leads on to way…” The virgin snow had already been defiled, trodden upon, but she ignored it, making her way drudgingly to the bus station. “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-/I took the one less traveled by,/And that has made all the difference.”
Three hours into the bus ride she felt lost, her internal compass spinning. Hugging her heavy volume of Leaves of Grass to her chest she sighed, “O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather'd every rack…”

Who her Captain was, she wasn’t sure, but she felt no shame in ending her recital with, “But I with mournful tread,/Walk the deck my Captain lies,/Fallen cold and dead.” She knew that if Virgil never came, she would be lost in Hell, never finding her Beatrice or her light, to be devoured by the wolves in the wood before she even came to the gates.

Fallen cold and dead.

Theme: Alpha #10 Shoes
Word Count: 153

“When are you going to wear them again?” Piotr asked rationally, watching her place the embroidered shoes into a small box, placing it in the back of the closet.

“Never,” Kitty said with a smile, looking over her shoulder at him, nothing expressed in her face but love. “But when I am older, I will be able to take them out of their box, wipe off the dust, and remember…” She sighed softly, not sure he would understand.

“Items for sentimental value,” she said softly, looking at the neat stack of boxes in the back of her closet. Wolverine’s claw, that lock of Illyana’s hair, a shirt she would never admit was Pete’s, a rosary that used to be Kurts, and of course, the wedding rings about her fingers.

“I just never want to forget,” she said, drawing her hand up to her necklace, the Star of David, the most treasured of all.

Title: Power

’Verse: 616 Comicverse

Theme: Alpha #11 Voodoo
Word Count: 202

They all had their superstitions, though some more than others. One night, in an effort to see if he could shatter Kitty’s incessant calm, Remy asked the girl if she believed in voodoo.

Kitty laughed, shaking her head, almost as if in disbelief. “I don’t know enough about it to make a rational opinion,” she admitted, sidestepping the question and smiling at him. “Though I’d guess that no, I don’t believe in voodoo.”

The Cajun was positive that she must have at least heard of voodoo dolls. She assented that she had and he simply asked for a lock of her hair. She rolled her eyes and gave it to him without a second thought.

“I’m going to bed,” she said abruptly, standing up and marching to her room. Remy went up to his room as well, placing the brown hair on his desk, wondering what kind of psychological effect it would have on Kitty for her to think he was doing some arcane ritual on her.

A smiling well-rested Kitty ate breakfast happily while Remy just stared at her. “You feelin’ ‘kay, Kit-kat?” he asked.

“Something only has power over you while you allow it,” she said with a secretive smile.

Title: Fixing the Fight
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: Alpha #12 Tumble
Word Count: 161

“You’re constantly getting beat up,” Kitty frowned, dabbing crusted blood from Jubilee’s face with a damp cloth. “You really shouldn’t pick so many fights.”

Jubilee just stared at Kitty for a moment then shook her head. “It’s not like I can phase away from every punch and walk over every tumble. We’re not all perfect.”

“You think I’ve never skinned my knee?” Kitty asked with a laugh. “No, I’ve had my share of tumbles. I’m just worried that picking fights is going to be the end of you.”

Jubilee shook her head, grimacing at the sting of the antiseptic. “You use your diplomacy, Kitty, and I use my methods and together, the world will finally change.” She snorted in sarcasm.

“No, I get it,” Kitty said, taping the gauze to Jubilee’s face. “You fight your fights your way and I’ll fight my fights my way. Then we won’t kill each other or get killed, and we’ll make the changes we want.”

Title: Where We Have to Go to Find Beauty to Save
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: Alpha #13 Feet
Word Count:

“Close your eyes,” Kitty said to Illyana, and the Russian did exactly as she was told, shivering as Kitty wrapped an arm around her waist.

“Sometimes, we question the beauty of the world. Sometimes, we question what’s wrong with all of this and we need reassuring there is something left to protect,” Kitty whispered to her, storking the small of her back and trailing her fingers down her arm, never losing contact, entwining their finger. “So open your eyes.”

Illyana did so, blinking a few times before shock ran through her body and she almost fell into Kitty’s arms as she realized there was nothing under her feet. She looked at Kitty with a confused expression on her face, the two girls standing on thin air.

“Just look around,” Kitty whispered, and under the glare of the sun, Illyana scanned the horizon, forests, mountains, and small towns. From this view, there was no way to see the hate, crime, or prejudice.

When Kitty had walked them back to the ground, she just smiled at Illyana shyly.

“There is still so much beauty here,” the Russian murmured reverently.

“So much to save,” Kitty agreed. “No need to walk in their shoes when we can simply walk to where it is apparent we are needed.” Illyana was silent, leaning against Kitty with tears in her eyes.

Sometimes, knowing what was left was more overwhelming than you would expect.

Tears, kissed away from her eyelids, and before she knew it, she and Piotr were kissing passionately, but she was still crying. Eventually, she pushed him away, falling to her knees and telling him candidly, “No, not now. Please, just don’t do this to me.”

She understood his need for contact, his need for distraction, and she could not deny the fact that she was attracted to him and needed the same things. They had both loved her, cherished her, and now there was an awkward vacuum in their life.

Illyana was dead. And her first kill only made her feel ill.

Title: That Soft Spot Only I Can Find
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
’Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: PG-13
Theme: Alpha #15 Eyes
Word Count: 231

Blue eyes. Vividly blue. Normally stubborn, hurt, or lit in a prankster’s mirth, but for her, sometimes, actually emotion reflected in the girl’s eyes. She had seen pain, pain Kitty probably would never know about or understand. She probably would never understood what hurt the Californian street girl so much, but when she opened up and allowed the girl in, Kitty felt that much closer to understanding.

Once, Kitty had mused they were both broken, but she knew that wasn’t true. Jubilee had hardened herself in a way Kitty had never learned. Perhaps that’s what attracted Kitty to Jubilee-she was still soft, malleable, her own brown eyes wide and trusting.

But after being so hurt, Kitty wanted to find those soft spots left in Jubilee, those moments where she was open, vulnerable, and the girl with no street smarts could break down every barrier around Jubilee’s heart.

Jubilee’s lips were soft, and so was that noise, almost surprised when Kitty kissed her. Her body was soft, small breasts stroked by tender fingertips, a tongue exploring around the navel, and the pads of her toes pressing against the sheets.

But it was after the ecstasy, the soft whimpers, that Kitty relished the most. The moment she could stare into those startling blue eyes and see softness Jubilee shared with no one else.

It was what made her so beautiful, so intoxicating.
