Title: Compatibility
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: #26 Relax from

It was odd, how sometimes dating the bad boy could be more relaxing than taxing. Most people would wonder if he was coming home that day from work. (Is that what they called it these days? Work?) Most people would worry about the fact that their friends disagreed with the relationship. (He's so much older, Katya... I can't approve.) Hell, most people would simply wondering what she was doing dating such a roguish figure. (How can you be sure that he's not cheating on you?)
Kitty put down the magazine, ignoring the 'dating compatibility' articles.
Somehow, it was easy to relax, dating Pete. All those other things that seemed to bother everyone else... They just weren't there for her right now.
It was just the chance to get away from the hectic life of before.
Title: Tit for Tat

And the girl thought she could get away with it. Kitty chewed on the end of her pencil, her gaze sliding over to the Chinese-American girl down the next row. Pure mischief was no match for her intelligence. Sometimes she wondered if Jubilee thought she was naïve simply because she was from a suburb of Chicago.
Marbles in the hall. It was childish, but they had been right in front of Kitty's door. Did Jubilee really think that would work on Kitty? Hell, she was so tired in the mornings, she was barely able to keep her particles rubbing up against each other. It was amazing she didn't fall through the floor.
Or perhaps Jubilee was looking for some tit for tat.
Oh, Kitty could give her some of that. She just had to think of the perfect trick.
Title: Louder than Words
Character/Pairing: Kitty Pryde
'Verse: 616 Comicverse
Rating: G
Theme: #28 Ramble from
x_men100Word Count: 112
Kitty had a knack for having all too many words when she was flustered. She'd talk for ages, her words often nonsensical for the situation. She'd ramble on and on, just reaching for that exact word she wanted to describe the situation.
But this was a point where no words would suffice. She wrapped her arms around Piotr's chest, a simple sob choking in her throat.
There were no words to reach for the indescribable joy she was feeling or for the grief she had held in for so long. Sometimes, when you know too many words, silence is the most poignant of all things. For now, just holding him was enough.
Title: A Falling Outsider

Theme: #29 Flee from

Kitty stared out of the dorm's window, looking down at the leaves falling onto campus. She had this overwhelming feeling weighing down on her chest like she had run away from home. It felt like home now, even though it was truly no home any longer.
This wasn't a time to shed tears. This was no time for real regret.
She had gotten away from a place where she was being used. She had fled from an unhealthy situation. She was going to make a better life for herself at Heinlein. She was achieving her dream of finding a peaceful coexistence.
Somehow, though, she wondered if this wasn't the front line she had thought it would be. She had run from the X-Men to Excalibur, and now that they had disbanded, it felt like she was running away entirely.
Kitty sighed softly, watching two girls gossip to one another as they walked down the path. In this world, she was merely an observer, and her window felt like it was that portal to the outside world.
She never felt so alone.
Title: Being in Love

Theme: #30 Close from

Being close to him was more than she ever could have asked for. She snuggled up to Piotr, pulling the covers with her. There was something gratifying about being able to study his structure as she lay with him, a figure she had at one point never thought she could see again.
"I love you," she whispered into his sleeping ear, her fingers wandering over his bare chest. She kissed his ear, feeling him shift from her contact. Just being able to watch him and feel his muscles flex under her small hands... Oh, if being close felt this good, she never wanted to be far again.
