The House was Open, officially, yesterday, to our many friends. I have dueling anxieties about the open house every year. I worry that "nobody will show up" and at the same time worry that we won't have enough food

That wasn't even the half of it, frankly. I haven't listed everything we served, let alone R.'s Too Many dessert items.

We had little cocktail franks, and tossed them in honey and rosemary after roasting them. They didn't last very long. We had extra, unseasoned ones, and fed them to the boys last night in little tiny buns (they requested to eat them bunless, however).

It's the showmanship from all the theatre, and the Jack-Sprat-and-wife culinary pairing (I'm savory and she's sweet).

But it's the company that makes the party....

I'm sorry I couldn't make it. I actually missed another party I was supposed to go to on Saturday. Having a weekend long headache is no fun. :(
