[Robert here is not a New Feather by any stretch of the word, but he is an astrobiologist, and that Chocobo - something he's never seen before - is summarily grabbing his attention in a death grip.

He is pretty much completely enamoured, floored and surprised all at once. Regardless of how depressed, terrible or in general melancholy his demeanour might be right now from wherever he's hiding to make this post, this is an opportunity for Science and it will not be passed up.]

What an absolutely remarkable avian specimen. Is that a ratite? It reminds me of a Dinornis robustus from extinct Terran biota...

[There is a wavery, watery quality about Robert's voice right now that might suggest to Okita that he has been having a hard time, and that this exchange is something that serves mostly to cover other stuff.

[Nope, Okita notices. He knows it very well and so he debates for a moment about saying anything. Instead, he'll let Robert have this moment.]

She does like to get into the laundry, doesn't she? I guess she is a bird after all.

[And in the background, Tammy starts yammering on about laundry.]

I thought perhaps we could do with some pigs or chickens, but if you intend to take all the animals for walks I might reconsider the idea.

It's a bit sad to leave her in her pen all day, don't you think?

[Eiko has never been so happy to see a chocobo! So Okita will be seeing a little girl very comfortably walking over to the bird, and going to be trying to pet it.

She's pretty good with chocobos back home, so she's just hoping this one won't try to eat her.]

[He turns his head slightly when he sees the stranger approach, but when she goes straight to Tammy, he smiles. Tammy doesn't mind being pet and simply warks at her.]

Is that what she is? Her name is Tammy.

[To which the chocobo happily repeats her name:] Tammy!

She just appeared one day at our home, so we kept her. Do you have things like her in your world?

I'm not sure if she's a chicken or something else, but she certainly looks like one.

[Tammy warks and looks at Sano's hair, tilting her head.]

She found us actually. I found her crying and trying to preen Yamazaki-san's head when he was still here.

[Tammy warks again and takes a test peck at Sano's head.]

Maybe they had to repeat a grade?

You must've been here a while yourself if you're giving tours. How long is the usual stay, do you know?
