Appearance:
With short brown hair and petite stature, Yasako Okonogi makes for a pretty ordinary looking girl. There's nothing really note worthy about her with the exception perhaps of her large glasses and bookish appearance. She chooses to wear simple clothing and plain colors, both of which encourage the approachable image she gives. She has a habit of walking around with a comfortable shirt and either a skirt or some pants, and often wavers from wearing a smile or a thoughtful expression on her face to accompany her friendly deposition.
Personality:
As a sister of a troublesome younger sibling and an owner of an energetic dog, Yasako spent plenty of years honing her responsibility skills and taking care of people. Or more like chasing after them, she seems to have gained a horrible luck along with that responsibility. Although she's not exactly an expert of taking care of people, she cares sincerely for the well-being of others and most importantly, her friends and family. Yasako has no qualms about going out of her way to help somebody if need be, but has a hard time taking charge. With her passive nature, she's often lead around by her louder friends, and if it all possible, would rather prefer to take the sidelines to avoid any sort of conflict.
Yasako is by nature a gentle person. She tries not to make enemies and unconsciously looks for kindred souls or other people who need help or support. In many ways, Yasako is still a child. With a naivety only children can keep and a determination from someone who has yet to face the more darker parts of life, she takes her time through each day, getting by with a hopeful smile on her face.
Abilities/Weapons:
Yasako is hardly prepared to jump into fights of any sort. Unless of course, the option of chucking a bag or whatever spare change in her pocket is a legitimate way to fend for yourself in the heat of battle. The result doesn't really look too bright on that however.
Growing up under one of the most renown dream analyzers in Reial, Yasako inherited several special abilities. She has developed a slightly honed sixth sense which allows her to be more spiritually aware of ghosts or passed-away souls. Along with this strange power, Yasako is also capable of entering dreams. For the moment, she's not quite aware of these two skills and prefers to think instead that she has a surprisingly accurate intuition.
Weaknesses:
Being the gentle person she is, Yasako has a hard time speaking up for herself. Always dwarfed by stronger people who passionately voice their opinions, she tends to shy away from most things, even if she has something of value to say. More often than not it's kept her from saying things to people at crucial times, or telling someone to stop while they're on a dangerous path.
It's not so much shyness than it is nervousness, but still, when it truly boils down to it, Yasako will do what she has to. When push comes to shove, she is capable of standing up for herself or for others and stand above any sort of fear.
Yasako also has a horrible sense of direction and it's nothing new for her to get lost in towns or cities. The only strange part is, sometimes when she truly concentrates, she can find a path to the most strangest of places or other people she was searching for, sometimes through their own dreams.
History:
Born and raised in the city of Clovus with her younger sister Kyoko, Yuuko grew up around a healthy family. Her father worked in one of the companies that developed electronic journals while her mother worked as hard as she could around the house. She spent most of her time looking after her sister, a job which took lots of attention and hard work and also got her into all sorts of sticky situations.
Her job of being babysitter only doubled after her grandfather gave her a pet dog by the name of Densuke shortly before he passed away, and the white dog quickly became her close companion and guardian.
During this time of her childhood, her grandfather, a famous doctor of dreams and the spiritual plane had mysteriously passed away during his experiment on a girl named Isako, someone who Yuuko saw very little of in their small town. She had seen her here and there, occasionally bumping into her, but certainly not enough to remember her name.
One day, as Yuuko was wandering the streets of Clovus, Densuke slipped from her grasp and disappeared, running off and zigzagging away from her. In a panicked frenzy, she left the streets and paths she was familiar with, slowly and unknowingly following her dog into the dream that her grandfather had created for Yuuko in an attempt to aid the recovery of her mental health. In that dream she met Isako's older brother, and with his help, found her dog again and gratefully kissed him on the cheek, declaring a proclamation of childish love. It was there where he, under the name of 4423, gave her the nickname "Yasako, which directly translates to "the gentle girl."
However, after Yasako gave him a kiss and talked with him, the dream reality that her grandfather had created began to collapse. Fueled by the feelings of jealousy and anger that Isako felt towards Yasako at that time, 4423 told her to leave and by following Densuke again, she barely managed to escape. After the obliteration of that dream scape, Yasako wandered the streets again and only with the help of the spirit of her grandfather, was she lead back into the real world, under the demand from him that she forget about that day. As a child with a handful of trust for her only grandfather, she obliged.
The memories of that day are hazy to her still, and Yasako sporadically remembers them from time to time. Sometimes when drifting off to sleep, she can hear the voice of 4423 talking to her, warning her about a certain something, or maybe even a certain someone.
