my mom and i just took my dog out for a walk...upon stepping into the street:

Mom: "eew, it's that sewer smell!"
Me: "sewer? all i smell is the scent of rain ::takes a deep sniff in::"
Mom: "Emily...it didn't rain."

we usually don't, but we had a late dinner and my dad was too tired to walk him (he usually takes nick out for his long walk in the evening), and by the time my mom and i got around to it, it was 11:45.
