The American Family Association needs you... to gleefully foil its plans!

It seems the American Family Association (AFA) has up an online form to send Hallmark hate mail for making same sex marriage greeting cards. What a shame it would be if people used it to send Hallmark support mail instead ( Read more... )

As Bartles and James used to say: "Thank you for your support!" :D

And yes, I love the fact that they hammer the idea that homosexuality is "illegal." This is the same fearful mentality that has people stockpiling guns just in case they have to "oppose the government."

(Although you'll notice that further down, I advocate saying "Fuck The Government" myself. I just don't have a gun to make the point with.)

Kind of strange that the question of whether or not you were a pastor was a "required field."

I know, huh?

I have to admit, it crossed my mind after posting that I may just have given my info TO the AFA, for them to use as they see fit. :-/ But I figure, hey, I'm standing up for what I believe, *and* putting my name on it, to the people who are actively doing something I feel is hateful. No use preaching to the choir, ya know? :)

"Thanks for growing with the times!

Dear Chairman Hall:

I am surprised and very pleased that Hallmark has chosen to support gay marriage by creating cards specifically for that purpose. I live in Massachusetts, and a LOT of my gay friends are getting married. Thanks to Hallmark, I can now find appropriate cards to attach to the wedding gifts I give to those friends. I will be sure to purchase all cards from Hallmark from now on regardless of the occasion, in order to show my support of your business decision. I will also encourage all of my friends and family to do the same.

Hallmark will now and forever be synonomous with sending the very best, in my book.

Bravo, Hallmark!"

I LOVE that letter! It was gracious, eloquent, (mentioned the almighty economics of the situation) and just generally perfect. :)
