Oh yeah! I'll be spending Christmas in Madrid this year --- how prepared should I be for deathly cold?

(Please remember, I have spent the last few years in a place that RARELY dips below 10-12 C.)

Well, at the moment the weather is rather mild (about 4ºC mornings and 12ºC noons), but I don't think it will hold till Christmas. In my experience, in December you can expect 0ºC in the evenings. I don't live in Madrid, but I've been there in winter and it's more or less as cold as Cuenca (where I spend the year) and a bit warmer than Zaragoza (which is a fucking crazy city, because in summer you got 40ºC easily). So my estimation is from 0 to 10ºC, reaching -4ºC in the dead of the night and maybe 15ºC in the early afternoon if you're really lucky (but don't count on that). Last winter was fucking cold, so I hope that means this one will be milder?
