The landscape does not care about him, either, nor does it care about the Voice in his head.
The mountain grows higher, for a time, until it's nearly vertical above them; and the cliff to the opposite side of the path drops off more sharply as well. And then still they continue to grow, until the mountain looms over them and the cliff falls away below, and then more, until they walk on little more than a ledge in the underside of a horizontal plain of shattered rock.
(either way, to get to Home Milliways, one must pass under the mountain)
Then the mist comes up, obscuring the view, and only the slight brightness ahead is enough to guide the footsteps of the uninitiated.
Soft laughter. "And it's good to see you again as well, JHVH, as always." A pause. "A visitor, is all. He needed a distraction." Another. "You say that as though you thought I didn't already know."
He turns, as the one who was God long before he fades from the scene again, and raises a dark eyebrow at the Prophecy using Gwen's body.
"Would you have Me be so very discourteous as all that, then? Or do you simply feel that the landscape is not to your taste? It's certainly not My design."
He continues to walk, as the mist fades and color bleeds back into the landscape, albeit disquietingly so. (grass should not be purple, the sky should not be green, the water of something that might be a lake in the distance should not be greyish black)
