Halloween countdown film challenge 2 and 3

Sunday night, because it was Sunday night, and Sundays are made for for black and white films, I watched the very stylish and elegant The Innocents as suggested by the lovely Pink Emma.

A blast from the past this time, in contrast to the very up to date film of the previous night. The Innocents is a masterpiece. A very chilling suspense film, made ( Read more... )

Debz! How about my favourite film of all time - Candyman. It's sublime. From the score by Philip Glass to all the layers you can peel away in the plot.

Also, dunno if it really counts, but David Lynch's Lost Highway has some pretty creepy moments.

Oh, and A Nightmare On Elm St - 1 and 3 are probably the best, although I'm a bit of a sucker for 4 and Freddy Vs Jason...

And maybe even The Fly. Goldblum arm wrestling etc.

You've probably made your choices by now, but if not, there's a few to keep you going! x

No my lovely, please keep suggestions coming. I've seen hundreds, probably thousands of scary films, and I'm trying to see those that I've never seen before, or not for a very long time and I'm only watching films that are suggested by *my friends* You'll get your name tagged on facebook and everything :)

Candyman is on my list (never seen it before - yeah, I know)

But I am going to add Nightmare on Elm St to the list, as I've not seen it since it came out. Yay! Thank you xxx

Nope. Dunno why not. Always dismissed it as one of them screaming teen, more gross than scary and therefore ludicrous . . . oh no, wait . . . I've got a shit load of them on my list. Ho hum.

One of my film mentors mark13 , also suggested Candyman as well, and you like it too, so now I'm really looking forward to it. And since I can't for the life of me find a download copy of his first suggestion, Les Yeux Sans Visage (I desperately want some more foreign language fear on the menu btw) I'm going to bring it on tomorrow night :)

Best horror film I've seen in years is The Signal, a low budget American film about a television broadcast that sends everyone who watches it murderously insane. It's a strange combination of brutal, funny and quite sweet, happy to lend it to you if you like.
