Hi, just added you from add_me. :D I need to get me some Murakami. He's my bff's favorite author too. I recently read "The Lottery" too and I'm dying to get my hands on more of her!

My heart just fluttered at the mention of you reading Shirley Jackson. It's so hard to find people that know even just one piece of her writing. If you enjoyed The Lottery, and would like to stick with short stories, there is a great collection called Just an Ordinary Day that I highly recommend.
Unfortunately, the only books of her that are actively being published are We Have Always Lived in the Castle and The Haunting of Hill House. If you get lucky, you can find her books in used bookstores, but your best bet is ordering off the internet.
Out of her books, I highly recommend The Bird's Nest or her autobiographical tales in Life Among the Savages.
Forgive me for the long comment. To say I am obsessed with Shirley Jackson is a slight understatement.
