I've decided that I shall do something like this once in a while: recommend a song/singer!

In my opinion... I think they're singing about moving on to the future with hopes and dreams, which I find totally motivating~ I love songs like this~~
Too bad there isn't actually a PV, but it'll have to do.
The title of the song is Sunshine, and it's also the 2nd Opening of the anime Nurarihyon no Mago. The anime just recently ended, but the manga is still ongoing and extremely epic. The mangaka's ridiculously good with Copic Marker and I adore him for that. But that's not the point right now...
About MONKEY MAJIK...
I'll just give basic info that I know about them, because I'm not really the type to actively research singers or groups that I like, so my knowledge is fairly limited.
The group is actually a 'mixed group', since it consists of 2 Canadians who are brothers, who both perfom vocals and guitar. On the other hand, both the bassist and drummer are Japanese. The band performs Pop-Rock music. As for the name... Apparently the leader of MONKEY MAJIK, who would be the older Canadian brother, by the way, was inspired by the song Monkey Magic, also the theme song of Saiyuki.
Well, that's all I really know. I told ya my knowledge was limited. To be honest I'm more interested in their songs than the background of the band. Brick me, please. *bricked*
AS TO WHY I SERIOUSLY RESPECT THEM.
Even though the vocalists are Canadian, and by Canadian I mean pure Canadian, and born and raised in Canada, they are both ridiculously fluent in Japanese. And it's totally not a case of them learning Japanese just so as to perform. They knew Japanese to begin with, and then decided to create a band. They weren't really even expecting to go mainstream. I respect them for that.
Their mastery of Japanese is WHOA. Trust me. If you listened to Sunshine above, you'll realise that their pronounciation is PERFECT. It's even better than some Japanese, who mess up their lines when singing. You can hear them go "mmphmmmphhmm" at some parts when the song is fast. MONKEY MAJIK DOESN'T. Okay, so maybe this song is a little slow, fair enough, but you can go search their other faster songs on Youtube. THEY'RE GOOD.
And of course, as Canadians, their English is excellent as well. That's why when they sing in English in some parts of their songs, it sounds like heaven for the ears. PERFECT SINGING IN BOTH LANGUAGES.
You can totally tell that they really put in all their emotions in the songs. Listen to how they sound like when they sing! Ya can totally imagine their movements and expressions when their singing and playing of instruments, and it's fairly hard to be able to do that these days. I'm not saying that all the other singers out there don't sing with emotion, but I'm going to be partially biased here as well. SNSD FANS, I'M WARNING YA, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE. IF ANY OF YA TRY TO FLAME ME I'M GOING TO MAKE SURE YA BURN IN A FIERY HELL BECAUSE I WARNED YA ALL. My brother has really made me into a strongly Anti-SNSD girl.
SNSD. THEY HARDLY, IF NOT COMPLETELY DON'T, PUT ANY EMOTIONS INTO THEIR SONGS WHEN THEY'RE SINGING. GO LISTEN TO ALL THEIR SONGS. IF NOT, GO WATCH THEIR VIDEOS, IF YA CAN STAND THEM. The 'live' performances should be good, because then what I'm talking about should be more obvious. Their videos actually make it easier to tell, in my opinion. Okay, so LOOK AT THEM. They dance! They sing! They wink -EWW OMG I'M GONNA PUKE- HERE AND THERE AND EVERYWHERE. They smile, yes. But if ya look CLOSELY at them, they actually seem to be performing more of because they HAVE to, than that they're actually having fun doing so. And if you listen to them sing as well, this one ya don't have to listen really closely, YA CAN'T HEAR ANY FEELINGS IN THEIR SONGS AS WELL. In fact they give me this, "Ah, what the heck, let's just get this over with so we can release more songs and earn more money quick" feeling.
I'm not being prejudiced against Korean singers here, mind you. I'm not extremely fond of Super Junior either, but at least I can admit that they DO sing with feelings.
Geh, okay, enough ranting. I'm going off topic again, as usual. I digress. Let me just sum it all up with that "MONKEY MAJIK ACTUALLY ENJOYS SINGING AND CLAIRE RESPECTS THEM TO DEATH FOR THAT".
Yup, on to the songs~ To be honest, I've listened to quite a few on Youtube, but not all of them. I've only downloaded Fast Forwards and Sunshine so far though, because I've had them for a long time. It's really a pain in the butt to download stuff on my Dad's laptop, which I seem to be using pretty often. I blame my brother and his obsession with Maple like some PRIMARY SCHOOL KID AT HIS AGE, *cough* Oh sorry, I said nothing. What? You clearly heard me complain about my brother? You must be mistaken, because all I heard was a strong gust of wind. Ahem.
Either way, MONKEY MAJIK is really good at both fast and upbeat-ish songs, as well as slightly slower and more melancholic-ish songs. Which is good for me, since I absolutely love both. Their songs are really quite unique, and the guitar accompaniment is extremely good as well. It really brings out the feel of the song, and it doesn't drown out the singing at all. There ARE cases of singing being completely drowned out by the music, trust me... The drummer is also really good. It's more obvious in fast songs, where he can go from slow to fast and THEN suddenly jerk back to slow drumming. DRUMS~
Yeah well, I don't really know what else to talk about, since I'm really only here to share their epicness, but I'll have an awesome post tomorow, trust me on this~ (0v<*)/ Hmmm, on second thoughts, maybe it won't be that epic, since no one else reading this is likely to be a gamer, but ah well. Photospam once more. I guess I might have given everyone a pretty vague idea by now~
