CRAP DUMP OF OCS HERE. BECAUSE CRAP IS CRAP BUT IT MUST BE DONE.
PLEASE DON ALL PROTECTIVE EYEGEAR.
Fukajima Raido (left) and Fukajima Reina (right). The resident heterochromatic twins.
I COMPLETELY REDID THEIR OUTFIT DESIGNS. (And everyone's designs actually. Half of them are still in the process of being sketched out during breaks of burning my grey matter though.) You wanna know why? 'Cuz (1) I hated the cloaky-jackety-vesty-whatdoyoucallit in their original design. Like. SERIOUSLY HATE IT. Hell if I know why I even designed them that way to begin with. IT WAS COVERING UP ALL THEIR SHIRTS AND WHAT NOT. BOOOO. (2) I have a simplicity complex. A severe case, by the looks of it. By Ai-sama's definition, a simplicity complex is when you play too much Square Enix, so much that it seems like EVERY SINGLE THING UNDER THE SUN which you design looks ridiculously PLAIN and BORING in comparison.
My god. My human proportions. Like seriously. And they're total sticks! So skinny!! They don't look like 12 either OTL. I kinda identified my problem with this (proportions, mostly) but I'll have to consciously try to correct it in future. Also, I SEEM TO HAVE A RIDICULOUSLY POOR SENSE OF COLOR COORDINATION. The colors are WHAT. DEFINITELY redoing the color scheme of their clothes after the Big Os. COUNT ON IT. This is exactly why I wear 'theme colors' when I go out. If you see me wearing an outfit comprising of literally only one color in the future, you'll know why.
Anyways, self-bashing aside (although I suspect this is actually what makes me improve so markedly and rapidly. Because 'masterpieces' look utterly disgusting upon 2 hours of completion.), details on what they're wearing.
Raido: Head: Dark Purple hairband. Probably gonna add some metallic details, but let's leave that for after 15 November during mass celebrations.
Body: Tight black one-piece(?). That's the black thing you see from under his clothes.
Dirty white shirt, black in the middle. Has gold patterns. The collar is short and stands up straight. The sleeves are really loose and baggy, and are only just above the elbows. Possibly editing color.
Really dark blue pants which are maybe 3 fingers-width above the knee. Has gold linings and a similarly colored belt-ish design sewn on.
2 belts (green and black) crisscrossing each other at the front and back, attatched to his pants (although you can't see this cos the shirt is long.) 2 brown leather pouches attatched to the belts.
Feet: Shoes cover his ankles. They're not meant to look so tight, but because Ai-sama is fail you'll just have to imagine them as being slightly looser. And no, they're not brown. Not until the next sketch anyways, 'cos their color is definitely gonna be changed. There are metallic designs on the shoes.
Usual details like his purple metal chokers are still there on his neck, wrists and legs, but the neck choker underwent a slight modification. It has this metal ring connected now.
Reina: Head: Large green ribbon bunching up her hair, as usual. Probably gonna add some white patterns.
Body: Black tube top with white pointy trimmings. Covered by a dirty white sleeveless with gold patterns. There are ribbons on the shoulder straps. Also, dirty white poofy things as armbands. Kinda debating whether to keep those there or to remove them though. Possibly editing color.
Denim shorts, with white... fur? IDK what you call it. But once again because Ai-sama is fail is sure as heck doesn't look like what I've described it to be. Pants are rolled up and have thin gold markings. Brown leather belt is really there for nothing other than decoration. 2 thinner belts (purple and black) clipped to the larger one, but not crisscrossing like Rai's.
Black gloves, but please pretend they're not there. They're going to be severely edited and changed to MUCH shorter gloves.
Black leg straps x2.
Feet: Shoes with this rather loose bit of cloth attatched which covers the ankles. There's also a leather thingy attatched and sticking out. Seriously IDK what to call that mans. Also, brown? What brown? I don't see any brown shoes. Do you?
Like Rai, all chokers are there, and the neck choker has a metal ring too.
BTW, if you're wondering why they have such strange poses (failness on the artist's part aside...) it's because I was originally planning to draw their weapons. But then decided to sketch the designs of everyone's weapons all together after I finished the lineart. And since Ai-sama utterly fails at drawing hands let's just say she didn't feel like tormenting herself by redrawing the hands in another pose OTL.
Shinsui Rikanna.
Yes, she has pink hair. And pink eyes. And this design in going to be utterly REDESIGNED but I'll just post this up here for now. TBH this post is really meant as the tryout for Desideratum Cross's post as Designer anyways, but IF ANYONE OF MY FRIENDS SEES THIS POST, SHOOT ME PLEASE. Seriously I'm starting to reconsider trying out for the post yo. My crappy designing skills! Sob. *Simplicity Complex!!*
Head: A white headband with red trimmings, and just simple black clips and a white hair-tie. The long bits of hair in the front are actually tied. It's not very obvious, but if you look really closely you'll probably notice that the hair seems to get really thin somewhere around ear-height before getting all loose and fluttery again.
Body: Short china dress like outfit with black lace at the (lack of) sleeves and the collar, although you can't see the collar. The concept of her tribe was "Chinese, with a mild fusion of Medievial times". Or something.
Black fluttery bit of cloth around the waist. it's connected to the white and black cloth 'belt', and also has intricate yellowish designs and ... rope? (What on earth do you call those chinese bits of rope sometimes attatched to jade and whatnot?) They look plain here, 'cos this was actually drawn really small and rescaled in photoshop. I can't draw designs that small when the overall picture is already ridiculously small! (Poor scale planning yo.)
White shorts with red trimmings~
A long blue scarf that's all tattered and torn because it often gets caught in branches when she's jumping from one tree to another. (Wild girl.) I'm serious.
A red armband on each arm, a light chestplate, and those ninja-ish arm gloves that don't actually cover the fingers. BTW, if you're wondering why her left hand looks like complete utter fail, it's because... Ai-sama's hand twitched while doing the outlining with black pen, ''OTL. So the thumb got utterly ruined. Why the heck do I even twitch suddenly and violently so often anyway? What am I, some 50 year old grandma prone to spazzing attacks? Watch me in class. Whenever I twitch it's so unexpected and shocking that I always scare my seat partner.
Feet: Long white socks.
Silver boots with lots of metal zips and buckles and what not. As you can see, one boot is obviously longer than the other. Also, even though it doesn't LOOK it, the boots are actually rather light and flexible. ...What? Rika's a wild girl, remember? You want her to jump about while being weighed down by her shoes, of all things?
The necklace she's wearing is her summoning necklace. Basically, it's a chain with a claw-like ornament, and has 6 different colored beads attached (red, blue, yellow, green, black and white), each color representing one element. The beads are 'proof' of her contracts with each Elemental God, and she uses them to summon the gods.
Remember: Ai-sama's Simplicity Complex will be the sole reason why Rika's design, basic features aside, will be completely changed later on. I'm starting to think playing too much Square Enix is actually detrimental to my lack of talent. And this is ironic, coming from Square Enix's future employee.
Midazo. Just Midazo. He doesn't have a last name.
Absolutely no one has seen any sketches of this guy before. (And another guy, Vastyl, who I kinda feel for, since he was the first character to be conceptualized, twins aside. Since I designed them in Primary 5 and always kept their general design close.)
He's one of those really polite characters that use lots of honorifics. Gentle, but if you manage to provoke him in some way or another, he smites you to death with ridiculously powerful lightning magic before you even have time to blink. Midazo's from the same tribe as Rika, so his design also resembles a blend of Chinese and Western.
Head: His hair is longish and slung loosely over the left shoulder. Hair color is... unique, to say the least. The ends are midnight black, but slowly and gently blends to a snow white color. His hair is decorated with a single long ornament made of both metal and traditional materials like beads.
A black headband with a white/silver pattern running across completely covers his eyes. He's blind (that's what he claims, and he indeed IS) but somehow or another he can sense his surroundings perfectly. Most figure that he 'sees' because his ability to sense auras of some sort is highly acute, but no one knows for sure. If you remove the band and manage to get him to open his eyes (an almost impossible feat), his eyes are gold and his pupils, long and slitted. The 'whites' of his eyes are also pitch black. This gives him a inhuman feel.
His ears are just so very slightly pointed and he has strange crimson-colored waterdrop-like patterns on his forehead and under each eye.
Body: A long white robe with gold linings. (Ai-sama seems to love gold linings a lot. This probably isn't a very good thing. So repetitive!) It's black in the middle where the zips/buttons would be. The shoulders have layers of very light armour plates which are really more for decoration than protection. I mean... He's a mage. Mages are long-ranged hitters. Besides, which dumbass warrior would slash someone's shoulders to kill? Also, under the robe is a considerably thinner black... shirt? Peeking out from under the long sleeves. Contrary to appearances, this inner shirt is NOT joined to the pants.
A long piece of light yellow cloth (it wasn't meant to look so orange, but apparently Ai-sama is not only bad at color combination, she is also bad at controlling her coloring materials to get the shade of colors she wants.) functions as a belt, with the excess cloth hanging a little at the thigh.
An accessory made of the same materials as Midazo's hair accessory is attached to the cloth.
Long black hakama-y pants. They are long enough to comfortably cover the ankles, but the don't touch the ground.
Feet: Just simple Chinese flats.
Midazo's hands are bandaged for the sake of pure decoration, starting from mid-forearm.
If you read the entire wall of details above, you may realise this... THAT'S RIGHT BABY, MIDAZO ISN'T HUMAN. Not telling what the heck he is though. That's a revelation you'll only find out maybe halfway into the entire plot. Oh ho ho.
Even though his design is probably one of my plainest, Ai-sama is surprisingly quite pleased with this. Sure, there's gonna be some editing, but most likely not much.
As written in very horrible brush-tip markered handwriting, Ochre Ilhein. Presenting the main character ho!
Well, main character in his OLD design, that is. BUT WHATEVS.
I'm not sure if I've uploaded any sketches or details of him before, so I think I'll just describe him here.
Ochre Ilhein isn't his real name obviously, since he's from Tokyo and not the Dream World. He just seriously hates his real name, so decided to call himself Ochre after his hair color, starting from a very young age. That's right yo, his hair really is that color. Although he's described as blonde, it's actually a little more brown. Hence the self-given name. But Ai-sama is fail so it doesn't look blondey-brown.
Anyways, he just kept responding to nothing but 'Ochre', so much that it stuck. Now everyone, even his parents and teachers call him that, and he even writes that on worksheets and tests.
Another thing he is notorious for would be that he speaks in an absolutely monotonous voice. I kid you not. That kinda led to Reina calling him Deadpan and other variations of the word as a nickname. Either way, his voice and bored expression makes most people he meets assume that he's an uncaring and antisocial bastard. They're only half right in that he takes a very long time to warm up to people, but once he accepts you, he'll consider you a friend for life, no matter what happens. That being said, he's highly perceptive and is a good judge of character, despite his appearance. If he thinks that you're not trustworthy, he won't even bother trying to get to know you in order to spare himself of any betrayal.
He's a skilled gunner, able to easily snipe tiny objects from metres away. (Although this is also partly due to special goggles which are highly technologically-advanced. The goggles help him to 'lock on' to targets with a scope.) He uses 2 long-barrelled pistols which are able to shoot powerful bullets rapidly. Extra ammunition is kept in pouches attached to gun holsters strapped to his thighs.
I'm not going to describe his design, 'cos like I said, this is his old design. It's been completely axed. I actually drew this a rather long time ago, but decided to upload it anyways. So I'll just describe his head.
Head: Long and slightly messy hair pulled back into a low ponytail which reaches his back. His fringe covers his right eye. He somehow still manages to see perfectly through all that hair though.
Piercingly blue eyes.
His left ear has a single round ear piercing of the same color as his eyes.
Like mentioned above, highly technologically-advanced goggles. The glass is tinted a very slight yellow, and when the scope is activated it appears as a glowing green... scope, which moves freely around the glass as it tracks a target. Up to 2 scopes can be activated at a time. When Ochre is not in battle, the goggles usually hang loosely around his neck.
Well, that should be completely all. Ai-sama demands that the Big Os hurry up and blow over with so that she'll have time to draw Ochre's, Vastyl's and Aris's new designs out properly and 2 edit the other three's.
LONG POST. Hope that didn't blow anyone's eyes out. Although it probably did, hurr hurr... *sweats*
Over and Out!
