The awesomefulness of the weekend that was Cosfest <3
Was cosplaying as March Hare from Are You Alice on both days, solo on Saturday and with a group on Sunday.
Day 1
In which Ai was soooo lonelyyyyy QAQ Like seriously. Was totally alone sobs.
Basically, just wandered about and had my photos taken by quite a number of people. <3
Me: "THE ROLES. HAVE REVERRRRRSEEEEEEEDD!"
Normally I'm the one chasing after people for photos. This time people chased after me for photos. FEELS GOOD MAN. That awesome feeling when people ask you for photos! You feel totally successful and OH HELL YEAH MAN ALL THOSE MONTHS OF SLAVING AWAY AT YOUR COSTUME. TOTALLY WORTH IT. :DDDD AI HAS SUCCESSFULLY BROUGHT JOY TO ALL THE FANS OF ARE YOU ALICE OUT THERE AT COSFEST. <3 No words can describe.
And there was this guy who was super enthu about taking my photo! <3 (Not in the creeperific way tho lololol)
I was all " I've got a group tomorow come find us all then!"
Not much else to say, since it's hard for things to get amusing when you're solo.
Went around the arist booths, bought a few things. THERE WAS THIS POSTER. OF SHAMUON x AMATSUKI VERSION OF PANDA HERO ASDFGHJKL YES. Bought it. Obviously. And some Pokemon stickers! <3 I wanted to buy my full Emerald team but they only had Blaziken and Wailord haha so plan failed. I requested for Ralts-Kirlia-Gardevoir but now that I think about it I should have requested for Breloom too lolol. Anyways. Bought Blaziken, Wailord, Lampert (spelling? LOLOL IT TOOK ME UNTIL I GOT BACK HOME TO REALISE I BOUGHT A LAMPERT AND NOT A CHANDELURE OTLLLL), Bagon, Cacturne (it was in the Cactuar pose! <3), and something else that slipped my mind atm orz. And I requested commisions! Headshots of Rai and Rei in chibi form, SO ADORABLE <3 Since I only had picture references of my PLAY THE JOKER artwork, I had the comiss based off that. AND I THINK THE ARTIST MISTOOK RAI FOR A GIRL HAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMGEEEEE. He's prettier than Rei! He even has longer eyelashes than Rei LOLOLOLOL I was like, RAI. YOUR LIFE LOLOL. SHOTA SUCCEEDED. Although when I went home later and compared the drawings carefully I realised that the 'eyelashes' were actually the stitches on his eye. That means that he's supposed to be 'half-blind' in that sketch, but since the artist drew both eyes, the stitches ended up looking like his eyelashes lolol. He's still prettier than Rei tho hahaha.
Also, there was this Nurse!Grell cosplayer. The cosplayer was a girl so there's already an 'advantage' there but SOMEHOW THE ENTIRE OUTFIT JUST LOOKS SO FITTING HAHAHAHAHA 8D It really looked EXACTLY like manga Grell, Ai kids you not! With the sharp teeth and just the general look and feel in particular! And then when you stop to wonder if Grell WOULD wear a nurse outfit you can't help but think "... Yeah actually he would, wouldn't he." HAHAHAHA THAT'S WHY. THIS COSPLAY IS DOWNRIGHT BRILLIANT. The cosplayer is a GENIUS.
And there was also a Mercenary (Ox) and a Duke (Racoon) from Trickster Online! I'm cossing Mercenary for AFA with a group, so when I saw the cosplayer I was like l'D I'LL NEVER BEAT THAT NOW. Well the cosplayer was a guy so he's bound to technically be better than me already. I mean he looks like a well. MAN! BUT STILL. COMPLEEEEEEX D: They were GOOD THO I APPROVE AND LIKE.
Then! Dinner with Pearldibaa at Nex! In which we were being highly random and talking about all kind of stupid things but I still had awesome fun <3 Also Pearl, EMBRACE YOUR FREE RIDEEEEEEEEE! 8D
Day 2
The most. AWESOME. FUN. The most fun I've ever had literally all YEAR. Although I bailed out on all my homework for the weekend just for this, I DON'T REGRET IT. I would bail out on all my homework for a YEAR for this. I love my group so much <3
Group: Alice?, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, White Rabbit, March Hare (me!), Caterpillar, Knave of Hearts turned photographer, Knave-of-Hearrts-turned-photographer's friend as helper/2nd photographer XDD
The entire day all of us kept role playing our characters, it was downright hilarious XDD Marianne bailed out on us so White Rabbit was like NOOO MY MARIANNE SOBS HAHAHAHA
Got to Downtown at 11 like we planned, but no one showed up until waaay waaay later QAQ
While waiting:
Little boy: *pulls on the 'ears' of my hat* "Mummy! MUMMMYYYY!! (My laptop can't type in chinese so I shall translate :/ ) There's a rabbit! There's a rabbit!" *runs away*
(When I told White Rabbit later (s)he was like, "Hah? Then imagine if that kid saw me. What would he say?")
White Rabbit's ears are so very soft and morestable lolololol, But they're kinda heavy so they drop off quite often and they shed fur like mad. We kept saying that White Rabbit consumed too much MSG LOLOLOL US. I became the unofficial ear pin-ner haha. Quote, "Aiyo, Taichou pin ears still the best." I feel honored :D Being called Taichou by all my members~ Feels so awesome HAHA
Not all of our members came fully prepared, so by the time we actually started to move out it was around 2 or so sobs. Meanwhile lots of us kept running in and out of the girl's toilet to prepare/check on others haha. (Cheshire Cat had to stay out the entire time cos he was the only guy on the team lololol) During that time we also met up with kyoudai (our photog) and his friend. Spent quite a while talking to them! :D And we discussed the most stupidly random topics haha.
Alice? + White Rabbit + Me: *look at Caterpillar*
Me: "Wah, 14 year old have bigger boobs than me sia."
White Rabbit: "I know right! Way bigger boobs than me at 14! ... But that was like years ago, sob. I feel old."
Alice?: "Actually all of us quite flat leh. ... Okay except Rabbit now."
Caterpillar: "But I'm so short! QAQ"
Alice?: "Drink a lot of milk."
Me: "Milk is a LIE. I'm didn't grow at all!"
Caterpillar: "Your height is okay!"
White Rabbit: "The milk all went to a different place. Went to her boobs."
Me: "What about me then? I've already stopped growing."
White Rabbit: "Nah you'll still grow la. Around Sec 3 or 4 I also stopped growing. Until my last year of poly when they told me my height was 161cm and I was like HA? 1cm? I stop growing for years and suddenly you tell me I grow 1cm? When I want to grow I don't grow and when I don't want to anymore I grow?... ... Actually it's always that way right. All the short people want to grow and all the tall ones don't."
Me: "The grass is greener on the other side."
Alice?: "Maybe you should do that. Keep thinking you don't want to grow anymore and reverse pyschology your own body."
Later when I went back home I concluded that the milk all went to my bones and made them solid. I can crash into anything and everything and hardly feel pain at all. XD;;
Finally left the toilet, went to the tent and dumped our bags! Then I loaned everyone my little Are You Alice keychains haha. Some of us wanted to buy drinks first so they went to Macs.
Caterpillar didn't have pockets to put her wallet, so Cheshire Cat offered to place them in his pockets. He has MANY pockets.
Caterpillar: *Suddenly sticks hands up the inside of Cheshire Cat's suit and rummages for her wallet*
Me: l'D "I dunno but doesn't this kinda look rather wrong? You look like you're molesting him."
Caterpillar: "Ya but doesn't Caterpillar really like, molest half of the characters? It fits."
Meanwhile the rest of us sat on the grass and flopped about haha. And while we were drinking our stuff... Some people wanted to photograph us. l'D We were like... "With our Macs?" "Ya it's okay." "So we endorse Macs arh?" "Ya can!" And we were LOL WHAT OKAY THEN. Are You Alice are the proud um. Endorsers of MacDonalds now LOLOLOL.
Wandered around for a VERY short while at the grassy area outside the tent, SAW A GIANT RILAKKUMA, SO PLUSHY. Que the mad squeaks of Caterpillar and me.
Me: "RILAKKUMAAAAAAAAA!! *Runs off but stops halfway* BUT PHOTOSHOOT! OH NO DECISIONS! QAQ"
Caterpillar: "TAICHOU CAN WE GOOOOO"
Me: "I DON'T KNOW BUT I WANT TOOOOO"
Lucky everyone was really nice and let us go off to chase the Rilakkuma haha. Kyoudai took photos of Caterpillar, Alice? and me with the Rilakkuma WHEEEE Alice? wasn't as enthusiastic as us tho we were MAD :D Our Hatter and Chesire just stood by one corner watching us haha sorry for leaving you out guys.
There was this HUGEASS queue of people wanting to take photos with the Rilakkuma so we had to jump queue lolol I feel somewhat bad but we would have NEVER gotten out turn if we didn't, serious. While waiting...
Me: *wiggles Rilakkuma's tail*
Caterpillar: *slaps Rilakkuma's back* "Taichou, he's full of air. He's so hollow inside."
Me: *slaps back as well* "Eh, really leh."
HAHAHA I HOPE THE PERSON INSIDE THE SUIT EITHER COULDN'T FEEL US OR DOESN'T MIND US HAHAHAHA.
We chased Rilakkuma all the way inside the tent, so after we got our Rilakkuma fix we left the tent to finally get out photoshoot done. ... Or more accurately all of us except Alice? left the tent. And we all agreed that intentional or not, our Alice?'s disappearing acts for long periods of time throughout the entire day was strangely in character haha l'D Cheshire eventually managed to drag Alice? out after quite a while when we sent him in, just because it was 'in-character' for him tho. XD
Me: *suddenly notices Cheshire came back without any warning whatsoever* !!! "When did you get back? I totally didn't see you at all, and I'm facing the exit." (Lots of other people didn't notice him either)
Cheshire Cat: "Cos I'm the Cheshire Cat! I appear and disappear whenever I please!"
Me: "GUYS ARE WE BEING A BIT TOO PRO WITH OUR ROLE PLAY HERE?"
Went to some secluded area to do our photoshoot, and even though kyoudai says he's an event photographer and thus horrible with photoshoots, he still did a DAMN AWESOME job. How the hell does he call his shots horrible?! Did some random shots, did some game/manga scenes (and so we discover that Cheshire Cat is our scene encyclopedia. He can remember EVERYTHING from the whole series PERFECTLY. Even the fact the apparently the Mad Hatter was the one who gave March Hare his hat, and that was like. One TINY sentence I'm sure most of us missed. l'D ), did this hilarious fanservice shot of Alice? kissing Mad Hatter. Our cos-ers are BRAVE.
Kyoudai: "This is the spirit of cosplay! :D"
BRAVEEEEEEEE.
We did the scene in which Mad Hatter came really close to Caterpillar as well. And then immediately after that there was this REAL caterpillar just a little distance away from us.
Alice?: "EH EH CATERPILLAR HERE."
Me: *jumps down from wall and runs in opposite direction* (This is a very Claire-tural reaction okay -A-;;)
Alice?: "QUICK HATTER DO THAT SAME SCENE WITH THIS CATERPILLAR."
Then Pearlio and Fisheh came! \o/ Talked for a while and were awesome together, then they left to walk around and explore cos we were still like, deep in the midst of photoshooting and I couldn't really walk around with them.
Finished up with part 1 of photoshoot, they came back, and March Hare officially endorsed apple-flavoured H-TWO-O as well XDDDD Talked some more, were awesome, then White Rabbit and I took off our coats (and her ears haha) and then I realised... MY COAT. HAS A HUGE WHOLE AT THE ARMPIT AREA LEGASP. I knew handsewing couldn't last. Now I really need to get a sewing machine, and fast. But I digress! Had to buy safety pins now, so Fish and Pearl and I ran to Watsons, nothing there; ran to NTUC and spent a long time looking and eventually decided to ask for help. One of the employees told us to go to Line 11, so we went and... "PARTY NEEDS??" Looked, still couldn't find it and the 3 of us were convinced the employee was lying to us, until we walked past Line 10 towards the exit and Pearl's awesome eyes found it HAHA \o/
Pearl: "Almost no more liao! Must be all the cosplayers come and buy."
And then I felt better knowing that I wasn't the only person with a costume malfunction :D
Went back to my group, saved my costume (THANKS FISH I LOVE YOU <3) Fish and Pearl went off to find a Fem!Kakashi cosplayer (who was DAMN good btw! SERIOUSLY!) while I did a little more photoshoots with my group. And apparently while we were gone they did this HILARIOUS series of photos with Cheshire Cat pulling out White Rabbit's sword and being all GWOARRRR AND HAHAHAHAHAHA OMGGGG I LOVE IT IT WAS DOWNRIGHT FREAKING HILARIOUS HAHAHAHAHA <3 <3 <3 WE NEED TO MAKE IT A GIF. NEED TO. GIF.COM YES PLEASE.
Was almost 6, so we went back to the tent, coincidentally met up with Fish and Pearl by the way, and then just hung around near the stage doing nothing except a few random poses. We totally did the K-ON! thing with the legs haha I don't know any other way to describe it. XD
And then! The guy who so very enthusiatically wanted my photo on Saturday? He found me haha! So like promised, took more photos with him and for him.
Him: "Can take photos with you?"
Me: "Our group? :D"
Him: "No just you."
Me: "Me?? Alone?"
I was like OMGOSH SO HONOREDDD HE CAME ALL THE WAY JUST TO FIND ME. (I know that sounds vaguely stalkeriffic but haha I don't think so and I hope not. XD;;) I wonder if he's a massive March Hare fan haha. First time cosplaying and I have a fan already! :D No words can describe this excitement and joy. I didn't even think my cos was vaguely good! But bringing joy to fans! The very aim of a cosplayer! Kinda accomplished, somewhat I guess! :D
Him: "Yeaaah you look so much better today! More active. Yesterday when I saw you you were all URGGHHHHH and zombie-ish."
Me: "I'm not normally like that! QAQ I was lonely, lonely! And the one and only friend I met ignored me! There's loooots more people here today! :D"
Yeah and so that little convo alone also kinda made me think, cosplaying as a group is much much better afterall. I mean I had 2 consecutive days to compare! I suppose I could go solo and hang out with out friends while cosplaying, but. The role playing! It's almost entirely the reason why I had so much fun! :D It's kinda hard to role play when you're solo. Or at least it's not as fun cos you haven't got anyone to role play WITH. I'll probably go solo once in a while, but if I can go as a group then I'll definitely do it :D I love my group members~ THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING SO NICE AND FRIENDLY AND HUGGABLE AND THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY FIRST COSPLAY EXPERIENCE SO DAMN ENJOYABLE. <3 I LOVE YOU GUYS LET'S COS TOGETHER AGAIN!
After that it was really 6 and people had to split to go home and all, so group disbandito! Walked around with Fish and Pearl, checked out more Pokemon stickers (and was so tempted to buy but didn't QAQ), doodled a little something on the artist corner that I am far from proud of, but it's a little hard to produce a nice sketch when you have to stand on tiptoe just to get your pencil to touch the paper. XD;; Then my dad called and wanted me out eres pronto cos he was coming in 15 MINUTES TIME (DEAR DAD MORE WARNING PLEASE IT TAKES TIME TO CHANGE AND GET MAKEUP OFFF :/ ).
While I was changing, Pearl and Fish went and bought me cake <3 Guys that was an awesome surprise, thanks so so SO much, I LOVE YOU BOTH MORE THAN MOST! <3 <3 <3 They let me choose 2 out of the 4 cups, so I chose the chocolate and the coffee one. My dad apparently missed a turn somewhere, so while waiting for him I ate the coffee one. SUPER DELICIOUS GUYS I LOVE YOU <3 <3 And the cups make awesome... Cups! :D Yeah well this is phrased lamely. But you know those little make it yourself jellies! :D I love to eat them but my parents threw away the little plastic cups we used to freeze them in. -A- So these will make awesome new jelly cups! :D 2 in 1 present! Hooray for jelly and hooray for cakes and hooray for Fish and Pearl! <3
Yup and that ends my rundown of Cosfest! Seriously tho, I haven't had so much fun in literally forever, and it's all because so many friends, new and old were there! <3 Ai loves being with friends or she'll become a zombie like a stranger managed to accurately describe so yes, THANKS GUYS THIS IS AN AWESOME BIRTHDAY PRESENT. I don't care if I don't get any presents this year (I'm not expecting to anyways, since no one in SP cares or even knows about my birthday haha, and most of my XMS buddies are in JC) but this weekend alone was the BEST present I've had. EVER. Nothing from previous years will ever beat it! <3 LOVE YOU ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! :D
Anyways, just a short little somethings before I turn off my com and CHIONG FDS HOMEWORK AHHHHH. /dies
I've totally got a plan for an actual photoshoot already! :D I want to do a tea party hehe. I mean this is Alice in Wonderland, revised or not! AiW LIVES tea parties! Not to mention kyoudai said that maybe he could join us as Jack if we did 2 photoshoots. The Queen of Hearts and the Knave of Hearts don't DO tea parties so this Photoshoot #1 could also function awesomely to buy kyoudai more time until he finishes his costume and I manage to find at least a Queenie so we can do Photoshoot #2 with more serious scenes. 8D Ai-sama is a downright GENIUS yes I know 8DDD
And Caterpillar-chan was asking me if we could do another event together as a team :D We're considering STGCC, but for the moment I still need to gather more opinions on the matter from the rest of my team. I hope we manage to do it tho! I want to cos with my team again, we're the most awesome fun ever :D
Okay that should be it. Ai really needs to work on her quail-egg-saving models now or face Death, Doom and Destruction tomorow. >__>;; Oh, the joys of design school. Fabulous.
