Wow Aida, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and all the details. For me, it was being reacquainted with all my stuff when we returned to the country that got me to pick up my nib again. Interestingly, my art teacher in secondery school taught us calligraphy. Thanks for sharing where you buy your supplies too. I have a nib which was bought years back when bookbinders was around and was wondering where else I can buy nibs from, should I break mine ( hopefully not!). Truly appreciate your sentiment on practicing and your humility, though your writing is so beautiful! I agree with learning at classes, though unfortunately for me, attending to my two little ones makes that impossible. Well, will see what happens. Cheers!

Hello Aida!

Thanks so much for the mention. Dee here from Souldeelight.com. I feel so silly to have missed this post. And I agree with you completely on having a good foundation especially when starting with crafts. Often times (as I am guilty of, as well), we jump to advance projects and suddenly feel overwhelmed because more things are goind wrong than what's going right.

And there is a certain camaraderie in joining workshops. Being with like minded individuals who shares the same "struggles" and questions you have when starting out. It's a great place to learn and hone the craft.

Anyway, Thank you again! All the best to you! And i'm drooling over your projects at instagram. Hope to join one of your classes soon!

Hi Aida! thanks for this detailed info, I've been wanting to learn calligraphy too =)
Your writing is very nice, I like the "fat" style too.
