I've got a training lesson with Irene tonight. Been trying to figure out how to ask her out because I don't know if she is actually interested in me beyond being a friend and teaching her how to defend herself in this town from demons. Sometimes, I think, maybe she is looking at me the way I look at her, but it's hard to tell. Irene is really shy

*knocks softly on his door, holding her crossbow*

*looks down a little and smiles when he answers*

*still holding the hairbrush, blushes a little*

Um, hi, come on in.

*holds the door open for her, hopes like hell she didn't hear him singing*

Can I get you something to drink?

[irene_hicks]

*walks in and notices his slight blush*

Um, this is the time we agreed on, right?

And water, water would be good, please.

Oh, yeah, I just lost track of time.

*sets the hair brush down, walks into the kitchen*

*plucks two bottles of water out of the fridge, hands one to her*

How was your day?

[aidan_hanley]

I only drink bottled water. No way was I trusting Hellmouth city water.

*ponders*

Unless the water is somehow drugged and it's getting to us when we shower.

[irene_hicks]

*blushes at the thought of him in the shower*

Um, maybe. It could be getting into our skin, or um, when we brush our teeth.

If you find out anything, will you let me know? From your captain, or anyone else.

*blushes even more at her lack of language skills*

*tries to figure out the smoothest way to ask her out, figures being blunt usually works for him*

Irene, I was wondering, would you like to go on a date with me sometime?

[irene_hicks]

*blinks*

You mean like out for dinner or something? Or a training kind of date?

[aidan_hanley]

You honestly don't have a clue how beautiful you are, Irene.

*shakes his head*

I've been taking pictures since I was in high school and I think I have a pretty good eye. You'd be the perfect model and I think you'd be pleasantly surprised how the pictures turn out.

Give me a chance to show you?

*shakes her head and smiles a little*

I'm not really beautiful, but thank you.

Do you have any of your pictures here? I'd love to see them. And if you want to, if you think I'd look okay in the pictures, then yes, I'll do it. And it'll help you with school, right?

*beams a smile at her*

It will help me in school. Any of the photos that you like? I'll frame for you.

*walks over to the bookshelf and pulls out his portfolio, sits down on the couch and pats the cushion next to him*

The first photos in here, I took when I first arrived in Sunnydale. There are some shots in the end of what the town looked like right after the apocalypse.

*sits next to him and looks over at the pictures*

Oh, those are beautiful, Aidan. You really do have a good eye.

*reaches over to flip a page*

This, this is what it looked like here afterwards? Wow...

*looks through them, frowning at the destruction*

It must of been awful to be here during that.

I'm not sure about the people born and raised here. Makes me wonder how they could want to stay, but then I'm the guy who chose to stay after I got out of the military, so who knows.

*nods his head*

Yeah, they have to know, but I think they believe they're protecting the masses by not letting them freak out over something that has yet to be controlled.

Though, with the way you're getting on the crossbow? I have a feeling they may be recruiting you for Special forces before too long.

I still don't know if I could actually shoot one of those things that were at Ralph's if I had to.

My sisters' friends offered to let us come over to their house to practice using a crossbow and do all the things you're teaching me, but I feel more comfortable if there's not so many people watching me. And if I'm getting good it's because you're a good teacher.

*smiles and blushes*

We can practice any time you want. I'm free nearly every night since the classes are during the day.

*smiles*

You'll have to credit the training I got from the Army. Most everything I know, I learned from them.

*checks his watch*

How would you feel about a pre-date? I could order in Chinese before we start the training.

[irene_hicks]

*smiles back at him*

Okay, I am a little hungry. I'll look at some more of your pictures while you order.

*waits until he goes to the phone before grinning to herself*
