OBAMA

The biggest argument against Obama has been: "He's not ready to lead."  Really?  Why?  What makes someone 'ready' to lead our nation?  Does leading a state  as Governor make you ready?  Does being in the Senate make you ready?  Does a life time of playing political games make you ready?  The answer is No.  Nothing could prepare ANYONE for leading ( Read more... )

Hmm, and now McCain chose a female Vice President candidate!! What an interesting twist. Wondering if he did that to kind of persuade the undecided "I wanted a woman president, but not a black president" camp?? I really had a feeling McCain would win because of the white factor - I really don't think America is 'ready' for a black president, even as un-racist as most of us claim to be. But now that there is a woman involved, I feel people (the undecideds) would be more comfortable with a black prez than a white might-be prez (because face it ,McCain is fairly elderly, and there is a good chance his VP could be Prez).

I wish Miriam was here today, she is the most politically intelligent person I know, and can always explain stuff to me. Guess I have to wait until Tuesday to get her input!

I almost find it offensive that McCain chose a woman. Mostly because it makes me think he doesn't realize that we can all see it is a blatent political strategy and not anything more. She is apparently extremely conservative too.

The thought of more George Bush politics is horrifying to me. Truly.

did you see his speech last night? me and kevin watched it, i literly got goosebumps a few times. i know he'll never get ALL of what he wants done, but if he can do some of it, it will make the USA a much better place to live in.

my father, who is a republican, has disliked obama from the begining. then i talked to him a few weeks ago about how obama wants everyone in prius's and he kinda hedged a little bit, like, yeah thats really a good idea. and then when we were in maine we started talking about Healthcare and he goes "you know, i really like what Obama is saying about healthcare. i completely agree with him" and my dad will get screwed on the tax changes due to his income, but he's starting to see, for the better good of the country, its worth it.
