These times are a changing

I never had a real idea of who I would be when I grew up. I used to think I’d be a marine biologist only really, I misunderstood what they did and really wanted to be a zoologist. I wanted to work with dolphins and whales. Then I wanted to work in genetics because I loved that unit of biology in high school. Then I kind of went adrift until my ( Read more... )

I know what you mean, about changing what you want to do so many times, feeling lost, not having a goal... I feel like I'm just drifting, with so many possible doors but no way to know which ones will actually lead somewhere and which ones will end up being wastes of time, dead ends, or even traps. At least we can be lost together... *hugs*

Yeah, it'll be nice being in the same area as you guys again. It'll be more fun being lost with friends. Hopefully I'll find new paths down there, since there aren't any, really, up here.

That's like 10 times as much as I ever knew about you, and I'm glad to hear it. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with your life, and sorry for being sorry about it. I am notorious for falling out of contact with friends and then regretting it.

Random fact: you're the reason I use the word "glomp"

I'm glad to enlighten. Well, if you are notorious for falling out of contact, I'll just have to do my best to keep in contact. Hehe.

And yay, I'm so proud!

I read it all! =P

Oh I know what you mean about the physics program here at UCI. It made me want to tear my hair out. It was all so frustrating, and most of the professors couldn't reach it for shit. GAH!!!!

I went through that, too -- jumping from idea to idea, going from criminologist, to politics to FBI... then to med school and finally vet school. I think a lot of people do it; it's a part of figuring out what will work out best for us.

We sound quite a bit alike -- I think of myself as an extroverted introvert, too! I'm usually fairly quiet unless I'm really comfortable with people, but I do just as well when I'm alone.

(sorry for the late reply, I've been MIA lately due to school craziness)

Kind of random: do you have any interest in Huntington Beach or thereabouts?

I'd say I have a "it's no worse than Irvine" interest in Huntington Beach. I mean, it's close to Irvine and all that. Why do you ask?

(also, we so have to meet up and hang out soon!)

Hah, okay. Dan and I were thinking about getting an apartment out there somewhere for the next year or so (starting in September?). No idea if you have any interest sharing a place with an LJ friend, but we'll probably need a roommate or two. It's an alternative to living with family (and it's closer to your Irvine friends?). Just a thought, we've just started looking into it.

(Yes, we do!)

Well, if I find a job by then, one that pays enough to afford rent, then definitely keep me in mind. You know, once you have a good idea where you want, how much it'll be, just drop me a line. The thing is, I rather not share a room again if I can avoid it. You know, that introverted part of me, it just hates not having a sanctuary (like, I'll go insane and start hating everyone). I'll also be keeping LJ updated with job things so you'll know if/when I find something.

(I'm going to be down probably this weekend and the last weekend of May before fully working on moving down)
