Wow, that's awesome. I wish they'd done that a couple years ago when I was graduating. And that I'd been in the country at the time--is there still a 90-day window after graduation to apply? I guess 90 days to apply isn't as big of a deal if you don't need to have a job offer in hand.
While I know that grad school is my best bet for getting to immigrate to Canada, I don't know if wanting to be Canadian is the right reason to go into grad school. Also, I'd be sorely tempted to go grad school at UBC just so I could be in Van (screw SFU), which would mean doing undergrad and grad at the same school. Probably not the smartest thing, but also probably not the end of the world.
An alternative to grad school is BCIT. I don't know if they have any one year programs. If you did one of their two year programs in ecology/biology/something then some of your bio classes would transfer and you'd get spares! and could work at the same time. And you'd get connections for future work. A couple of gals here did that.
BCIT is in Burnaby though. But you could live near Commercial Drive!!!! (like me. one day in the future)
BCIT also has some downtown classes. And BCIT is pretty awesome (I will likely end up there in a few years for something practical or other!) Then you can decide on grad school later.
Or else you could see how this effects other schools, if they have the same program changes, and if you're really concerned about doing undergraad and grad at the same place, go to Dalhousie or U of T or something. Although U of T for marine science...but you get my drift.

Super happy exciting for all my foreign friends. But mostly for me, because now maybe I'll see my foreign friends for longer!
