I went out to San Diego sans Ferret for her funeral and to pay my respects in a traditional Irish way and a tradtional Catholic way

So much for cutting out booze.

HAHA... only you would know the traditions..... I went out to La Jolla Shores. said a Irish hymn and poured out Grandma's favorite Gin into the ocean at sunset bymelf the fist day I got out into San Diego. The next day I visted friends and went to Hollywood to see some new bands and the next day was deticated to my Grandfather and my favforite Aunt (the rest of the family went to party after the funeral and I stayed with my 2 favorite people, Grandpa and Aunti Gail).

In terms of the PC, I already feel like shit I could not give you mass cash for what you have done.. why would I invite you over to do more work that I could not pay for....?

why would I invite you over to do more work that I could not pay for....?

Because of my first rule of computer work: Friends. Don't. Pay.

It is not a rule that will make me rich, but it's one that gives me warm fuzzies knowing I can do something good for my friends in return the good they do for me, regardless of how aware they are of all they do for me. It's a rule that lets me sleep at night.

Look at it another way: I paid nothing for the parts, my only cost was my time. That isn't a cost since it serves two of my own selfish purposes: (1) It hopefully gets you online and (2) finds a good home for a decent machine. If it sits there, unused, that defeats my selfish purposes and bothers me.

Now if you win the lottery, write a bestselling novel, or in any other way make it big, I expect some serious payola (and an order for a much better machine). Until then, you don't need to pay me a dime. I have a job, a better paying one than I had 6 months ago, I'm not broke, and I like building and fixing machines. For fun ( ... )

and ANOTHER thing! jtmulc July 17 2007, 05:08:03 UTC
You just told THE WHOLE WORLD (OK, maybe just our friends list) that I build scary and evil computers. This hurts my street geek cred. The only way I can repair the damage is to fix your machine so you can go forth and tell everyone what a frickin' awesome genius I am.

That is the cutest little kitty picture I have ever seen.

Also, the zoo is pretty awesome here. I love the aquarium, and sometimes the monkies are really playfull...

OK, I'm like a child when we go there, but it's still a great place...

I have been taking Ferret every possible fun place I can during summer (Idlewild, Storeybook forest, waterparks, museums, and so on).

I feel like a 8 year old myself...lol...

We were at the natural history museum not too long ago too, but they were working on the dinosaur exhibit...

That made me sad, I'm a child for dinosaurs also...
