15. A World Too Near, Kay Kenyon
The middle book of The Entire and the Rose. I am editing this post months after I read this, since I see I forgot to post about it. I liked it enough to continue to read on to book three, but it didn't move as fast and wasn't as captivating as the first book.

16.Half-Assed, Jennette Fulda ( Read more... )

This is not meant to be combative or anything, just an observation:

I think it's interesting that she got a book deal when she hadn't been at her lower weight for- according to my calculations- even a year. Most people can LOSE weight, it's the keeping it off that's hard. The majority of dieters start on an upward swing after the 2 year mark, and most people have gained back most of the weight by year 5.

Anyway, her blog is pretty interesting, and I'm always happy to see people discover they can actually enjoy being active and eating "real" food. :)

Its a good point, although I'd point out that the book focused way more on the journey than it did on the results - yeah, she lost a lot of weight, but she never once talked about how, specifically, she did it, other than to talk about learning to like new, healthier foods and exploring taste, and finding activities that made her happy.
