I liked the stories within Hyperion quite a bit, but I hadn't realized going in that I wasn't going to get an ending. I don't recommend the rest of the series. :(

I agree. The first book is by far the best of the series. The Canterbury Tales structure is really interesting. I loved the Priest's Tale too (I had nightmares about the ending when I first read this, more than a decade ago). I used to be in a band named after a character in the book (Sad King Billy).
