Surprise Flying Visits

So after all these years of having variants on "my hair is mostly all one length, generally shoulder-blade or below," I went out and got a real, grownup haircut.

Uncluttering for Christmas
My parents asked me what I wanted for Christmas the other day. After discarding the obvious answers, I plumped for a microwave. (Sorry, musique174, our power bill can no longer sustain the behemoth. Would you like it back?)
The problem is, the obvious answers were "nothing" and "can I convince you to take some of my stuff?"

1. On a subway platform in NYC somewhere, there's a guy playing horn to movie soundtracks. I gave him a dollar for playing the "Indiana Jones" themesong and dragging a smile out of both me and gdmusumeci (both of whom were pretty low on spoons at that point).
