Well, a squat always works the posterior chain from the calves to the booty, and incorporates the quads to a greater or lesser degree based on width of the stance. Abs too. Adding the wobble board forces you to epend energy to keep yourself from falling over as well :)
For me personally, bodyweight squats don't do much to fire the muscles anymore, since I can squat well over 200 pounds. So Most of my energy was definately devoted to balance.
I also do another exercise where I am on a cushion (think air mattress) on one foot and pass medicine balls back and forth. That pretty well just works ankles and abs.
Can't imagine how it would hurt me. I've got friends who squat well over 600, and I'm certain I could hit 300 no problem, so nothing that I do at PT will do me much harm :)
