How's 2010 coming along so far? Mine's okay. Nothing much.
I'm anticipating a lot of good things this year... Tension is definitely up.. still.
Anyhow, I finished Gyne, Jin, Akai Ito, BOSS and My Girl.
Gyne was simply a surgery drama. Nothing spectacular about the plot. Normal and average; but still watchable when there's nothing else to do but laze around the house. Actually, I found the plot about Yusuke Kamiji's lovelife complicating. Or maybe I'm just dense. :/
Jin was epic. Literally epic. All throughout the drama, I was constantly nitpicking and mentally comprehending the differences in languages now and then. Like modern Japanese versus traditional Japanese versus Japanese that is differentiated according to social class. Very interesting if you're a fan of classic Japanese cultures and traditions. The drama centered a lot on the concept of selflessness, dilemmas, consequence and lots of moral/ethical issues. BUT, I hated the ending. Jin needs an SP episode or another season! OH! The OST was epic too.. Gotta love Misia.
Akai Ito in short, restores my faith in the concept of fate. And destiny. That someday, I will meet the one person that has always been meant for me. Someday. Against the odds. (: It's a love story. And I like it just for that. And I want to watch the movie too!!
BOSS. I loved the ending so much! Such tricksters. They even made me cry. But the drama still ended trigger happy. The drama had some "that's just impossible.." moments. But the awesome final 2 episodes more than made up for it. I like it! Cast was superb too. I actually decided to watch it for Mizobata Junpei. But Amami Yuki was strangely adorable here. Erika Toda was quite good too, actually. However, my favourite in BOSS had to be Takenouchi Yutaka. I last saw him in Yankee Bokou ni Kaeru (where he practically shouts in every moment). He is definitely more enjoyable in BOSS. ^^
My Girl.. I love it to bits! It's a simple drama touching on family and sometimes societal issues. But OMG. Cuticleness OVERLOAD. Coming from both parent and child. 0.0 Momoka Ishii is too adorable and squishycute. Especially when she goes "Masamune-kun!". And when she cries, you just want to go into the tv to give her a huge hug... And our Aiba is a brilliant rookie actor and he should have been given leading roles sooner than this decade. Enough said. Really touching drama. Especially the beginning and the end; oh the end, of the drama. Get your hankies or tissues ready darlings. (:
That sums it!
The last semester of my university life is starting this coming Monday. Excited? Not really. But I am anticipating it quite a bit. (:
